Best Western Travelers Rest/Greenville

The entire hotel was very hot. My room never cooled off and smelled like an old dog. Made for a tough weekend.

Overall, I am very disappointed...

Liked: I liked the location. It was very close to our family event and easy to get to. All of the staff members that I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The lobby area was nice and welcoming. I liked that there is a sundry shop with a multitude of snacks and personal items for sale. They even had alcohol for sale in the drink cooler.
Disliked: I was disappointed in the breakfast. There were no eggs either of the two days that we were there. There was no bacon. The only fruit were over ripe and bruised bananas. There really wasn't much to eat in the way of protein. It was mainly full of carbs. I have stayed at other Best Western locations in the past and this one was not up to par with the others. My room was disappointing as well. It was extremely humid, smelled of mold and heavy chemicals. The carpet was sticky. I did not feel clean at all. My husband and I both woke up coughing each morning. I noticed lots of dust and dirt around the carpet/wall area. The shower smelled like sewage. The bathroom floor was slippery from the humidity. The "gym" was totally unacceptable. There was a treadmill that was "out of order", an elliptical machine that was broken and a reclining bike that could not be turned on so that it could be used appropriately. The free weights were the only option for a work out. The floor and machines were filthy, spilled drinks, dried mud, dirt and "unknown" debris on them. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is poor. The stairwell smelled of something that was rotting. The carpet in the hallways did not look well cleaned. We happened to see an employee cleaning a room as we were leaving and he was spraying the carpet with a cleaner that was so overpowering. I realized that was what had made our room so uncomfortable.

Disliked: facility not very clean, had to ask for a pillow. had to ask for dirty laundry bag. didnt honor ESA waiver for small dog. room dark, poor lighting. bed was too hard. AC very noisy. not even a TP holder, roll was balanced on grab bar for handicapped which we are not handicapped. furniture in very poor shape and room was just tiny and cramped. also very poor water pressure at sink. floors were sticky obviously not clean. tv remote was sticky and we handled using your own clorox wipe.
