Disliked: Hotel cancelled our reservation at short notice so they could house refugees instead. Not much suitable left in Dumfries so had to stay out of town.

Disliked: The hotel cancelled our booking that had been made several weeks prior due to a 'government contract' This meant that we had to find alternative accommodation at short notice and there was hardly anything, we had to stay outside of the town.Thanks Best Western, never again will we book into your hotels.

Disliked: The room I had been given wasn’t great. There were cobwebs in both the bathroom and the bedroom which I noticed had been mentioned in other reviews from other guests so this doesn’t seem to have been brought up to the cleaning staff. Many stains on the walls and on the carpets and a window that was very outdated and didn’t close properly which left the room cold. The bathroom floor was really uneven which was probably mostly caused by water from the shower as the screen didn’t keep the water in.I tried to make use of the ironing board, however the legs were bent out of shape and was unable to stand on all 4 legs making using it difficult. Came in after one of my nightshifts towards the end of my stay and went down to breakfast. However, there was no mention to me of a cooked breakfast nor any communication at all when I went down to the dinning area. Overall, the hotel is extremely outdated and over priced for what I got and would not pay to stay again.

Central and quiet

Liked: I like the Station. It is central, but quiet. Most of town shops, pubs and library/archive are within walking distance.
Disliked: It was a pity the bar was so empty when i met my friends there, but I guess that will come back with time. Also small thing, but at breakfast the coffee and tea were far too weak.
