Best Western Springfield West Inn

Clean and efficient. It was nice and comfortable.

Disliked: Coffee.

A friend and I were attending the Gluten Free/Allergen Free Expo at the Mass Mutual Center and needed a place to stay for the night. We didn't need anything fancy or expensive, just a place to lay our heads. The Best Western was just what we needed. It was close to local restaurants, and shopping. It was easy to get to, and the rooms were clean. If I ever find the need to stay in Springfield again, I would definitely give them a call.

Liked: Clean; the staff we encountered were very nice and very helpful.
Disliked: I wish there were an indoor pool :(

Fire safety concerns

Liked: Hotel is being refurbished.
Disliked: Fire alarm sounded so we evacuated and stood outside while the fire engines arrived and surveyed the hotel. At no time did we see a member of staff to check all guests were out of their room. Some fire drill training is urgently needed.

My stay was poor and...

Liked: Very little, next to the location there was nothing that was offered that was good.
Disliked: The room was not great. The noise from the road came right in. The vanity sink was clogged. The shower was outdated. The door separating the next room was damaged. The construction going on was a big inconvenience and we had to take the stairs multiple times from the 4th (top) floor due to the workers use if the elevator.

Disliked: No daily housekeeping in my room. Smears all over windows and tables. Found empty condom wrapper in the closet by the iron when I arrived. Sidewalks were not properly shoveled. Elevator smelled terrible. Hallways smelled like pot smoke.

Disliked: The hallways smelled like someone went to the bathroom in a corner somewhere and instead of finding where the smell was coming from they out a glade plug in outside our room door and sprayed with air freshener essentially masking the lingering feces smell
