Superb

Liked: Staff and location.
Disliked: Long walk to room and floorboards creek a lot around the room.

Exceptional

Liked: Nice room, not super large but bigger than a lot of UK hotel rooms, which are generally miserably small. Staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
Disliked: I had to lug my suitcase up and down a lot of stairs. Although there is a lift, it didn't take me to my room. This old hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren.Breakfast is overpriced so I didn't partake.

Liked: All the staff were very friendly and helpful , especially in Bar 27 and the food was very good and generous portions

Relaxing and well looked after.

Liked: Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice. The staff are very professional and can't do enough to help you. Plenty of parking. Lovely clean rooms. The shower head wouldn't tilt on the shower and we had to hold it to shower. We explained this to reception and when we got back in the evening the shower head and adjuster had been changed which was great. Although there isn't a swimming pool at this hotel you can use the facilities at the hotel just a short walk up the road. We didn't but it is useful to know this is available. We stayed in a family suite of 2 single beds and a double bed and there was ample room for us all. All in all very comfortable stay and walking distance to town centre and shops.
Disliked: The showers aren't the most powerful and we couldn't tilt the shower head.
