Best Western Red Lion Hotel

This was part of my husband's Christmas gift. It was spoiled by the fact that we could not order any food as there was an electrical problem in the kitchen. He has a chronic back problem and we wanted room service. The staff however were very helpful and friendly.

Liked: Beautiful hotel.
Disliked: No parking; no restaurant service.

Liked: The cleanliness and general good standard of the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Nothing

There was no Internet in...

Liked: Nice hot showers, in centre of town.
Disliked: There was no Internet in room 57. I was told it normally has WiFi. They were very quick to offer me another room. but I'd unpacked and was just off to dinner, so it was not possible to move. When I complained again next morning, I was given 20 pounds off. That's why I mentioned the room number , so if it is happening all the time, which I suspect is the cace, other guests can be aware. Also, it was a very long and winding route to get to my room.

Disliked: more attention to cleanliness inside room furniture needed, rubbish and debris in cabinets

Liked: A warm welcome on arrival. Very friendly staff. Large comfortable room. Excellent choice at breakfast, cooked or continental. Central location within walking distance of station, town centre and Cathedral. Reception kept in contact via WhatsApp.
Disliked: Despite the bathroom being clean, it could have done with refurbishment.
