This was part of my husband's Christmas gift. It was spoiled by the fact that we could not order any food as there was an electrical problem in the kitchen. He has a chronic back problem and we wanted room service. The staff however were very helpful and friendly.

Liked: Beautiful hotel.
Disliked: No parking; no restaurant service.

Great location and room size

Liked: Large rooms.Fast check-in
Disliked: Very warm in the summer. No Aircon but can included.

Very enjoyable

Liked: Excellent location. Good sense of history to the property. Friendly, helpful staff.
Disliked: Quilt a bit too thick for a hot night.

Historic hotel in the town...

Liked: Hotel was located right in the heart of Salisbury within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and the cathedral. Had outdoor area with tables and chairs that was nice to sit and enjoy drinks or coffee. Some parking was available but had to be reserved and there was a charge. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lift provided for access to upper floor rooms.
Disliked: As the hotel was built many years ago, some furniture a bit dated and no A/C but fans were provided.

Disliked: It seemed a little run down for the price

Liked: A great place to stay right in the heart of the old city
Disliked: The extra cost for parking

Liked: The location and on site parking.
Disliked: The property looks very tired and does not live up to the expectation of the on-line images.Our room overlooked a small enclosed, very poorly maintained yard which was home to at least 20 pigeons. The mess can be imagined and we had to keep the window closed so the room was hot and stuffy.

Clean and tidy, but I...

Disliked: I was in room 30 and I do not appreciate the fact that I was having to listen to music and drunks until 3 am in the morning because of the noise coming through the rooms from the clubs and passes by. When checking out reception didn’t even ask if everything is okay just a simple polite how was your stay with us

Picture-postcard perfect

Liked: We were thrilled first walking into the hotel front courtyard which looks better than its pictures and like stepping into a Platonic ideal of an old English building and scene. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location is also very convenient. The room was clean and adequate rather than lavish, but we were very glad to have stayed here.
Disliked: The WiFi is very temperamental, although the staff helped a lot. But then again parts of the building go back 500 years.
