Nice facilities, clean, comfy room,...

Liked: Breakfast was good, full English. We had asked if there was a refrigerator in the room, as we had purchased some cheese. There was not, but they provided an ice bucket to keep it chilled. Reception staff was very helpful, even walking with us to show us where the room was. Nice touch.
Disliked: The knob on the shower was very hard to turn. It took some work to not get a too hot shower.

The hotel & were all...

Liked: Very good choice for breakfast & good service.
Disliked: The only real disappointment was our arrival at the hotel & the service from the very abrupt duty manager. Initially we had to ring the reception phone & the duty manager appeared after several minutes waiting. This was about 1.30pm. We were asked if we wanted to check in to which our answer was yes as we had a friend's meal at 3pm. He said check in was 3pm & didn't we read that on the info. I said I hadn't but had chosen between 1 & 2pm when I booked. He said we would have to pay extra if we wanted an earlier book in. So I said well change in the toilets then if he could tell us where they were, leave our luggage in the car & book in later. I asked if our room was ready & he said it was. Then he read out to me & said it was by a firedoor, so he would need to swap outr room anyway so it wouldn't be ready until 3.30pm or more anyway. I said could we have a look at the room as we would be happy probably anyway with it. As it was the firedoor was external open doble doors out to the back carpark which were locked at night & a reasonable distance to our room. Not a door in the corridor that might be banging all night when used by other customers. He showed us the room & then allowed us to have the key & access it. We felt he was quite rude, putting up lots of barriers & not very hospitable. Considering his type of employment, hospitality we're not sure if he is in the right job. As the first point of contact when you arrive at the hotel he is not doing the establishment any favours. I remained polite throughout the conversation & persisted in trying to sort the booking out, my husband had to walk away after the duty managers initial attitude. After booking in we asked if he could book a taxi for us for 2.44pm which he said was no problem. We came to the front of the hotel at 2.40pm to wait & saw another taxi drive off. I checked with him that he had booked a taxi for us.
