An experience not to be...

Liked: Restaurant evening meal. View from restaurant.
Disliked: Room location was in 'slum'area to rear of main hotel building - the footpath part covered by nature's autumn fall from 7 months ago. Access to our room was from the outside, a parking area containing a large horse-chestnut tree from which large birds deposited on the vehicles and pebble ground-cover below. The bird deposits could not be seen, and when picked up on shoes were transferred to room carpet - how many times had this occurred with previous visitors? We were walking on the carpet in bare feet. Ugh!! The twin-bed room has 760mm wide beds - ok for children, but not adults!!! On returning in afternoon the room door was open, this likely to have happened at servicing visit - worrying. Cooked breakfast was barely warm.

Liked: Nice situation
Disliked: Very little staff contact. Self service check in and check out. Only staff in restaurant and a couple of things wrong with our order. Couldn't find our room for some time - written instructions unclear - and no staff to ask.

Disliked: Had superior room booked, but room was too small for 2 people and bed was just a normal double.

Will not stay again

Liked: The staff were first class and very helful.
Disliked: Could not use phone in the room to dial or receive calls, although the room had a card advising calls can be made.Family called and were advised they could not place a call to my room. The messy reception area behind the desk was the first impression of the hotel. Not good.

Rubbish

Liked: It was a nice building and you couldn’t really hear the road from the rooms
Disliked: Everything smelled of cigarette smoke in the room, even though it was a non- smoking room, the smell stuck of all my belongings. The floor was creaky outside the room so whenever anyone walked past (very early morning and late at night) it woke you up. The drinks were very expensive and the glass I was given was dirty.
