Best Western Priory Hotel

Very pleasant hotel on edge...

Liked: It was ideal for a one night stay to visit Bury. Room was very comfortable. Beautifal garden. Ample car parking.
Disliked: A bit more horizontal space to put things on would be useful. Probably in need of a bit of updating too.

Hotel served our needs well

Liked: The site location was excellent for what we required. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was comfortable and breakfast time was perfect for our requirements.
Disliked: Access for our hired vehicle would have been difficult had we not investigated all possibilities beforehand. By approaching from the east and leaving the same way, there was no problem.Shower head height clamp broken.

Good stay in the end

Liked: We stayed over night for a local wedding . Good locality for us . The room in the hotel we had was big bright and modern . All but one member of staff were really helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay a great experience. Giving us home made cookies and a little treat for our onward journey. The breakfast was great and the staff were great in the restaurant. The manager was brilliant and went above and beyond. Luckily this made up for our initial disappointment on our arrival . We have another 2 rooms booked for a wedding in July.
Disliked: Some of the property looked worn in places . We hoped we could get into our room a little bit earlier . 2.30 as we were at a wedding. We just wanted to put our bags into the room and a quick freshen up . Instead of doing this at midnight after the evening reception. Instead we had to use the toilets as the young woman on reception was not at all helpful or understanding . Our room was suddenly available when we said how disappointed we were at her decision, at the cost of £20 which we felt was unnecessary for 30 minutes so we declined . We had 2 rooms booked for a wedding in July and this certainly at the time was making us consider cancelling . Luckily the other staff made up for this so we will be looking forward to a return trip in July .
