Liked: A comfortable room, soundproof from outside. Good quality bedding. Clean. A bath. Helpful friendly staff.
Disliked: Not their fault, but noisy neighbours slamming doors

Liked: Great location, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff member. The rooms were very clean and great value for money.
Disliked: The honeymoon beds (both rooms had beds that sunk in the middle) rolled to the Centre of the beds all night.

Expensive for a budget stay

Liked: The room was nice, I didn't expect an extra bed [didn't need one].
Disliked: Absolutely appalled that the breakfast eggs were not free range, asked and then didn't have, even though breakfast was included in the price. It's not acceptable that hotel chains support inhumane farming practices such as caged hens when free-range are so readily available and a usual given, I already don't order bacon, sausages for obvious reasons [not free-range, possibly not even UK with decent welfare], but that's an ongoing arguement. Very disappointed to find plastic 'glasses' in my bathroom, wrapped in plastic bags, for heavens sake plastic is a huge environmental problem, stop adding to it. Once upon a time glasses were used in hotels and washed up. I loathe shower curtains over baths, messy, stick to the skin, unhygienic, would prefer a glass screen or no bath and simply a large walk-in shower, in fact a walk-in shower is also safer for older guests [no clambering over high sides of a bath].I brought my own teabags [I prefer Redbush tea], but otherwise was irritated that there were few supplied and that the milk and biscuits were not topped up for a second night, one biscuit per guest per two day stay...

Liked: I had a really lovely stay at this hotel in August 2025. I was upgraded to a room with a double bed which was at the back of the hotel with a great view over the South Downs. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful.
