It served the purpose and...
Liked: Friendly hotel. Comfy beds. Great location for our needs. Ample free parking
Disliked: The rooms are BOILING HOT. Everyone in our group (15+ people) all talked about how hot the rooms were. It seemed impossible to switchboff the bathroom heater until a secret switch was located. Turn the heating off and leave it to guests to put it on. Much cheaper for ypu, much more comfortable for guests and better for the environment

Disappointing
Liked: The surroundings
Disliked: The lack of attention from the staff, the non cleaning of our room on a daily basis. (Didn't even make our bed) toilet rolls not topped up along with tea and coffee. Rang down and said they would be right up with some. For which we was great full as was unable to use the facility's. Three hours passed, phoned back to explain we really needed toilet roll to which some finely did turn up. The lack of professionalism from most of the staff really did shine through as when we complained about our room not being cleaned not a sorry just the cleaner must have got confused. Members of staff drinking tea behind the food counter at breakfast and a younger member of staff working on the Saturday morning complaining about guests in ear shot. We dined on the Friday evening and have to say the pate was amazing, but the custard that was served with the bread and butter pudding is only what can be described as looking like left over coco pops milk. On a positive note, there is a lovely young girl unsure of her name (always had a bow In her hair) working that I would say the most polite of all the staff and tried her best, was clear she lacked confidence and wasn't given much guidance. Tables were not cleared, just left, while staff just stood behind the counter chatting. The service was that bad all the tables near us just had to laugh. We found out what the soup was as we was ordering our desert. One of the older couples even said ill just have ice cream they can't get that wrong. It's a shame as the hotel it's self is nice and in a lovely setting, but it really is like a travel lodge from the 1970s run by Basil Fawlty.
