Lovely location with unique rooms
Liked: Beautiful building a location, the room was clean and lovely, and staff were friendly
Disliked: Unfortunately the bath didn’t run hot water in our room, part of the reason we chose this room type was for the bath which we could not use

Excellent stay - can't do...
Liked: Beautiful property, immaculate gardens, staff excellent and the food was excellent good value for money good choice and gluten free options that were well marked on the menus and the breakfast hot plates. Gluten free cereal also available. When a problem occurred as explained on the negatives staff were very quick to respond and resolve.
Disliked: Everything about the property under the control of the staff was excellent. I ended up with a very large room that was underneath a nearby 'apartment suite' I understand that this was a Saturday stay and that a party with the occupants was being held in that suite. The noise continued into the early hours of the morning. On complaining to the staff at 01.45 they swiftly moved me to a beautiful room in a very quiet location. My advice if you are not at the location as party guests is to ensure that your room is not in the close proximity of an apartment suite that has been booked for a celebration.

Nice relaxed night away
Liked: Love the restaurant/bar had a lovely meal and breakfast was delicious and well organised and laid out. Great staff.
Disliked: I was emailed and offered an upgrade so chose this to make it an executive double which said we would have a bath and shower, we were charged the upgrade but never had a bath Im not sure it was an executive double? Also the shower floor was very very slippery accident waiting to happen room 216

Differing levels of service
Liked: A nice hotel with good facility
Disliked: The approach of the restaurant staff. We arrived back at the hotel about 8.30pm but hadn't booked the restaurant due to unknown timings of the day. Approached the restaurant at about 8.50pm and were told that we couldn't be accommodated by the waitress and the supervisor. I questioned as to why this was as the bar area of the restaurant was empty other than 2 people and that we would eat in that area if required. The issue was then escalated to the same supervisor who found us a table after initially declining to accommodate us. The experience was overall disappointing. I am the Managing Director of a local company who for the last 2 years have held our 2 day sales meeting at the hotel, but with service levels shown as it was on Saturday night, then we shall be looking at a different hotel for the next event.

Disliked: We ordered room service off the limited menu as it was after 9 . The chicken sandwich which turned up was shocking for the price, 2 slices of Warburtons and a bit of cold chicken

Liked: For the majority of the staff we experienced, they were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The drinks available at the bar were suited to our likes (but a tad expensive).Breakfast was delicious, hot and freshly served.
Disliked: The staff at the evening wine tasting event were not as friendly; their level of service during the meal was abrupt, and they tried to clear away drinks that we'd not finished!There wasn't a fridge in the room and as the rooms were quite warm, we didn't have a convenient way to cool them. Also the tea and coffee was nothing special, to say we'd paid for a suite - I'd have expected upgraded facilities, possibly a coffee machine, which other hotels do as standard.
