Nice employees and breakfast, but...

Liked: Having a full breakfast included with the room rate was a nice thing to have. I also liked the on-site pub, prefer hotels which have that. I also felt that every employee I interacted with was pleasant to deal with.
Disliked: The room itself was dirty and outdated. In fact, I was wearing clean white socks, when I took them off for bed they were very dirty on the bottom... And I guarantee that it was from the room floor, not from wearing my shoes. The bed was very tired... I woke up with quite a back ache each morning. I should have traveled with my own pillows as well!

Liked: The location is familiar to us and convenient because we have family in the area. We have also stayed at this location before. The price is very good, the rooms are adequate and clean.
Disliked: The room we were put in was on the top floor of the hotel. Apparently it was directly under an air-handling unit on the roof which produced a constant, loud rumble. It not only made it impossible to sleep, but also caused me to have a serious headache. At nearly midnight we requested to be moved to another room, which they allowed us to do. That room, on the first floor, was much better. However, the heating fan was also loud, as was the refrigerator, so we had to turn both of those off in order to get to sleep. There was also an ice machine in the hallway that emitted a piercing alarm early in the morning. Staff was aware of this problem and said that management was also aware of it, but refused to fix it. The final straw was that after retuning to the hotel late that evening, we found that housekeeping had never attended our room. She had knocked on the door at 8:50am and as we were not yet dressed, we asked her to please come later. She said okay. We left the room at 9:45, housekeeping was still in the hallway, but apparently forgot to return to our room. We requested fresh towels at the front desk and they were promptly delivered. Any one of these situations alone would have been manageable, but combined they made for a very unsatisfactory stay.
