Best Western Plus Vauxhall Hotel

Good quality hotel let down...

Liked: The Best Western Vauxhall is a clean, modern, well-appointed hotel tucked away in Old South Lambeth Road. It's a good option for staying just outside the central congestion zone. The staff are very accommodating, and communication with the hotel through the Booking.com app prior to our stay was prompt and helpful.
Disliked: Parking is at the nearby Holiday Inn Express which seems to be used nowadays as some kind of private hostel whose residents use the car park as a meeting and socialising area day and night. This is somewhat disconcerting. Furthermore, on arrival I was accosted by one of them who got the erroneous impression that we were about to attempt to stay at the Holiday Inn Express, and bluntly told me to sling my hook. This was downright unpleasant.

Liked: This is the second time I have stayed at this property - the location speaks for itself, great connections. The property is what you expect from a Best Western Hotel - clean and comfortable. Parking is secure and 22GBP per day / night. I made some administrational errors on my booking and both Best Western and Booking.com were exceptionally helpful sorting it out and getting all in order - I was very pleased to be supported in how they did.I have to say a big shout out to Ali on the front desk, who offered exceptional customer service resolving the issues (my fault) and providing a very welcome stay throughout. Customer service is not a trait you get all so often even in such industries that revolve around customers! But this was an exceptional level of service delivered by Ali. I would definitely use this property again!

Liked: Location was good for where I wanted to be. Near stations for transport. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. WiFi was ok Staff were helpful and friendly. Coffee making facilities in the room as well as snacks available at reception.
Disliked: Only complaint I have is that I didn’t know until after I booked it that there were no windows. This wasn’t really an issue, as I was only looking for a bed for the night, but it would have been good to know. I was contacted after booking to inform me of this, which was good, but I didn’t have an issue with the room at all.
