Best Western Plus Steeplegate Inn

We are fussy about motels as far as clean rooms, well kept structure, staff, nice furnished rooms, and a motel that you regret later about staying at. The Best Western Plus Steeplegate Inn in Davenport, Iowa met everything we like in motels and then some. Cost was good also, not one to break your checking account. Would recommend it to friends, family, and any one looking for a 'Really Nice' Motel to stay in and will stay in again if I'm in the Davenport area. Give it 5 Stars, plus 5 more!

Disliked: Could only stay one night.

The tub verses the real...

Liked: I liked the quietness , and location
Disliked: I bought the room with the biggest square footage. With the spa. The spa was big enough for 2, but unfortunately it didn’t work. That room wa sCLEAN. The next room was way smaller and the spa was just a bit bigger sized bathtub so it wasn’t what I paid for . Also the breakfast for the 2 days was exactly the same and they didn’t put out anymore syrup for the waffles the butter was like a brick and the juice was COMPLETLY out. The flyer in the room and online and even the chalkboard in front of the bar said that there was a restaurant in there and even raved about the fish fry Friday. I went down expecting a meal and the lady tells me that they have t been opened for a very long time. I said what about the bar. She looked at me as if I was crazy and said ma’am it’s not been opened for a long time. I was so confused. Why leave a chalkboard welcoming guests to come in but he closed??? So that was a downer

Liked: I tried to cancel my reservation. I emailed. Them never heard back from them except a confirmation for my room.

Disliked: Smokers right outside front door, uncomfortable bed in king suite, poor air conditioning, icky smell throughout, no caffeine tea, no hot water, no ice in only ice machine. Many “I’m sorry” comments from staff

Nice and clean

Liked: The suite was nice. We had a spa tub. It unfortunately didnt work (and shower drained slow) and the staff immediately helped me get a new room. Also had a nice pool area. Looked clean. Staff was excellent!
Disliked: There was no ice in the machine on the 2nd floor. Had to walk circles to find both ice machines through the building. Found lower level one to work, but super slowly!
