Best Western Plus Richmond Airport Hotel

We had a good stay. Motel is older but was clean and without bedbugs (yes, I check); staff were courteous and professional; breakfast was super good; would stay again.

Liked: What i liked when i read the description from booking.com was the price and the location.
Disliked: Well, it was the absolute worst hotel ive ever been in. By the time i reached the room and looked around, i told my kids to not sit down, we were leaving. We checked into a Hilton down the road 20 minutes later. To start, when i checked in, i had to call a phone number for someone to come to the desk. The lobby was very rundown. But thats not what convinced me to leave. First, the side entrance door wasnt secured. Im pretty sure it was broken. After entering, one of the vending machines was broken. Hallways were broiling. The elevator smelled like Raid and there were random piles of cleaning supplies in the hallways. Once we got to the room, the room smelled like smoke and had bugs flying around. The wall behind the sink had mold or mildew. Honestly, this experience has turned me off from the Best Western brand. Ive been catfished by some of their hotels before that looked better in the pics, but this was the absolute worst.

Disliked: This stay tested our marriage. Just kidding. But really, the husband was tasked with finding a room for a halfway stay for a road trip. He used Booking which is normally great but this disgusting room was a total fail. At $130 after all fees we slept in a dirty hotel room, in a very smelly hotel. The smells that emanate from the lobby and hallway are enough to turn you around right in your tracks, but we didn't have the time, energy, or money to re-evaluate our situation on this 1 night stay, so on to our room we went. Ugh. At least the noisy air conditioning unit kept the stuffy room cool. However, since it wasn't clean, the air was filled with who knows what. The staining on the walls and what ever was growing along the tub walls will only add to our nightmares. There was mold or mildew where the ceiling met the wall. The tiny full size bed was uncomfortable. I kept feeling like I'd roll off the side. Our night's sleep was continuously disturbed by our neighbors' coming and goings all night long.Stay here if you don't mind germs and splatter on the walls. We did not eat at the breakfast buffet, even on a dare. The husband failed with this one and has learned a lesson. We never could have stayed for more than the 1 night needed!

Liked: The staff was great and nice. The breakfast was decent.
Disliked: It smelled like mildew when you walked in the door. Our first room the carpet was soaking wet. Our second room, there looked like mold or mildew on the curtains and the lamp shades. We were able to get into the pool one time before someone threw up all in the pool and left a trail up the stairs.
