The Spotlight on Best Western Plus Philadelphia Convention Center Hotel

Comfort and Convenience in the Heart of Philly

Modern and affordable, the Best Western Plus Philadelphia Convention Center Hotel places you right where the action is—just blocks from the city’s top music venues and entertainment hubs. With clean, practical rooms and free WiFi throughout, it’s a solid base for your concert-filled getaway.
Located just 1312 feet from the Pennsylvania Convention Center and less than a mile from iconic Philly landmarks like the Liberty Bell and Barnes Foundation, this hotel puts you within walking distance of both culture and nightlife.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert fans especially love this hotel for its super central location. You’re just a short walk or quick ride from major venues, and with a 24-hour front desk, there’s no stress coming back late after a show. The atmosphere is quiet enough for post-concert wind-downs, and the nearby transport options make getting around Philly a breeze.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends needing a budget-friendly launchpad for a music-filled weekend
  • Solo travelers chasing a bucket-list tour stop
  • Couples looking to pair a show with a city break
  • Fans who prefer a quieter space to recharge post-gig
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want to be close to the action without breaking the bank

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t offer extensive dining, there is an on-site bar for a quick drink after the show. Better yet, the surrounding area is packed with walkable eateries offering everything from late-night bites to hearty breakfasts the next day. Room service isn’t available, but with so many options nearby, you won’t go hungry.

Nightlife Options

You’re in the middle of it all—whether you're heading to a concert or looking for a place to keep the night going. Dozens of bars, lounges, and clubs are within walking distance. Prefer something low-key? The hotel bar offers a more relaxed vibe to unwind with a drink.

What People Say

Guests frequently mention the hotel’s excellent location and clean, comfortable rooms. Reviewers on TripAdvisor and Booking.com often highlight the friendly front desk staff and the convenience of being close to both concert venues and public transit. Many guests say it’s a great value for the price.

Areas for Improvement

While the location is a major plus, some guests have noted that the area can feel a bit quiet or less lively late at night. Also, be prepared for off-site paid parking—the hotel doesn't have its own lot, so you’ll need to plan ahead. And take note: the hotel has strict ID and credit card policies at check-in, so double-check your documents before arrival.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers who want a clean, centrally-located place to crash—without the bells and whistles—the Best Western Plus Philadelphia Convention Center Hotel hits all the right notes.

Rebecca, P, visiting The Met Philadelphia Thu, 9 November 2023

Horrible because Best Western was not a place I felt comfortable staying in. Was charged 205.00 for nothing. They didn't even try to make up for false advertising.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Appearance of hotel outside and inside.

I would not recommend. Not close enough to any attractions you would feel safe walking around in. Parking is a block and a half away. The mattress on my bed almost sank to the floor when I sat on it, so not a comfortable sleep.

Liked: The room appeared clean and it was not noisy during the overnight hours.
Disliked: The breakfast buffet was the worst. I got yogurt from the little cooler and it had expired the week before. The bananas all had dark spots. The waffle maker was missing a knob and was not working. Turkey sausage was so hard and dry it was inedible. House keeping staff were very loud early hours - sounded as thought they were talking on their cell phones.

Plan for city traffic and this is just a perfect hub for your experience.

Liked: Just about everything from the front desk's help identifying a mistake to the cleanliness of our room. Complimentary breakfast was good (except for the sausage - not a fan).
Disliked: None. Lyft to and from the concert was easy.

Mean Lady at the Front...

Liked: The location is very close to downtown and all walkable. The room is also good and cozy
Disliked: Lady at the front desk was rude. We came in at 6am and the doors require a card to open at that time, so I hit the buzzer and the front desk lady put her arms up like "what do you want?!". She was visibly upset. I let her know we were there to check in and she rudely said check in is at 3am, but I mentioned I booked for the previous night so we could have a room ready for our arrival. She said we were a no show, which was fine, but I booked the room at 2am and we showed up at 6am, and when I booked the room, I messaged them on here (booking.com) that we weren't going to show up until 6am the next day AND I also sent an email to the company also saying this. She said we had to wait 10 mins for the manager to come in to she could ask how to proceed. Once the manager came in, she did a 180° change in attitude and became super nice. Although we had a good stay outside of this, this situation left a sour taste in our mouth and will not be staying here again. The rest of the staff was great though. The lady prepping the breakfast was super nice.
