Hidden costs! Disappointing!

Liked: The hotel had a beautiful setting in the woods. The pool was beautiful and we also enjoyed the hot tub each evening. They had a big fire pit that also kept us cozy on cool night. We also liked that there was a restaurant and lounge on the property. We appreciated that our rooms were cleaned every day without having to ask.
Disliked: Charges charges charges! I booked through a third party. When I arrived, they took my credit card and assured me no charges would be placed on the card unless I spent money there in addition to what was already paid. Within five minutes of checking in there was an $8.10 charge on my credit card. When I asked what it was for they said they raised their tax rate and refused to take it off. That goes against the third-party contract that I signed on the price I would pay. Additionally, I ordered a cocktail and they charged me for a double. The cocktail was $32! They said they always charge a double and that’s just the way they do it. I had to involve management to get my cocktail reduced from $32. The room smells like a bottle of cheap ones cologne spilled on the floor.

Pleasant stay.

Liked: Good size room although a long way from lift/elevator. As an aged person that was not suitable and no one to assist.I think the staff at the desk need to be vigilant of these situations.
Disliked: Closer room to the lift/elevator. Breakfast was quite good although a large Asian contingent all piled in at the same time that forced my wife and I to walk out and come back as they were quite rude and pushed in all the time.

Liked: The breakfast was delicious. Beautiful location. The rooms and the facility in general were very nice.
Disliked: Very disappointed that we were not able to get adjacent rooms. It was hoped that by booking early, nearly 2 months in advance, that we could be accomodated with that simple request.
