Disappointed
Liked: Confortable bed. Room was fine.
Disliked: Catering was poor. Desk manager gave us keys to a room already occupied - had to reallocate a new room.

An excellent and relaxing break....
Liked: When we arrived we were asked if we had stayed before. As we had, back in March, we were offered a free upgrade to two huge rooms. They were beautiful with a great bathroom too. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. We paid extra for breakfast which was plentiful and very tasty. Lots of variety to suit all tastes. We enjoyed drinks in the bar particularly the generous wine offer available 5pm to 7 pm. Our dog was very welcome. The car park feels secure. The location is great, just a ten minute stroll to the town centre.
Disliked: All was good.

Passable
Liked: Have stayed many times. Service friendliness and helpfulness not brilliant
Disliked: Water went off for evening which was badly handled although I was given a bottle of Prosecco and breakfast in compensation

Poor
Disliked: Charged £50 extra no idea why as I paid £15 for breakfast. Staff for breakfast incredibly unhelpful despite me being in my 80s with walking stick. All other staff very helpful and ensured I had an accessible room!

Not what we were expecting...
Liked: Sleeping in a comfortable room
Disliked: Due to a prom night happening at the same time as we arrived it took 15mins to get into the car park, then having to fight our way through to reception we were then asked to pay £50 as a retainer just in case we damaged anything ( we had paid in full for our stay months earlier). The room 117 although nice had really noise flooring so when using the bathroom at night the creaking of the floor boards woke my wife up. Hot water was a premium to say the least. On the last night of our stay there had been a burst watermain in the road outside which affected the water supply in the hotel so when phoning reception to tell them we had no cold water to drink the receptionist said to use the hot water (I don't know how their plumping works but if you still have hot water and no hot water this must come from a storage tank that is not potable water and is not fit for drinking), we did eventually get a bottle of water from the bar.
