Best Western Plus Hotel St. Raphael

It's okay for a few...

Liked: The room was clean and nice, the hotel as well. The staff was helpful. The location is good if you want to be near the train station and also near the city center.
Disliked: However the location is the drawback as well. The surrounding area is full of drug addicts and shady people. Not a few, hundreds. So it's good to walk quick when you go towards the center. Despite this the room is quite expensive. Also we asked whether we can have breakfast at the hotel and surely there is a possibility to have a buffet breakfast but it's terribly expensive.

A good one-night option close...

Liked: We felt safe and comfortable at the hotel, despite the somewhat rough nature of the surrounding neighborhood.
Disliked: At 22€, the price of the breakfast -- while quite a nice setup -- was excessive.

Nice hotel in a dilapidated...

Liked: Not bad as a hotel but the neighborhood is horrible. We thought to walk towards the center as its close by, but soon found ourselves surrounded by junkies, prostitutes and all sorts of shady gangster types. On the way to the hotel from the train station we also had to pass through various groups of homeless people seemingly waiting for a meal and picking fights amongst each other. In other words: the hotel only seems suitable for travellers coming in and going out by car with minimal interaction with the surroundings.

Good

Liked: The room was comfortable and was what we were expecting.
Disliked: The location was not ideal and if I'd known more about the open drug use (needles and maybe someone smoking crack?) nearby, we would have chosen a different location.

Great place to stay for...

Liked: Great location within a short walk of the old city centre and the train station. Lots of communal spaces for meeting with colleagues and working remotely.
