Best Western Plus Hotel Litteraire Marcel Ayme

Good location in Montmatre.

Liked: The hotel is in a great location and is very clean. . The man on reception when we arrived was friendly and helpful. We liked the touches in the room, like the water and refill options and the decor.Bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: Our issue was the size of the room. More specifically there was the tiniest of gaps between the end of the bed and the curved of the fire escape staircase wall. We had booked a standard double room. We also had to move the chair in order to access the en-suite. Ironically, given the name of the hotel, you would have to be a “passer through walls” in order to move your luggage to the wardrobe without hurdling the bed. Whilst the dimensions cannot be changed , this issue should be highlighted when booking the room, in case guests have difficulties.

Liked: Great view from the loo! Very quiet room as requested so slept really well. Great housekeeping.
Disliked: Room was very small - which was fine as I travelled alone but would be a real squeeze for two with bags

Exceptional

Liked: The room was bright and airy and, despite overlooking the street from the first floor, it was quiet and peaceful. The superior king was a good-sized double for Paris. Location is great for Montmartre and then for strolling into other areas (I got all the way down to the Rue de Rivoli in a comfortable 45 minutes). Plenty of bars and restaurants in a 1-15 minute radius and some great new coffee spots have opened since I was last there a year or so back Importantly it had aircon, which is a must in big cities when it's hot (34C). Water, tea bags and a nespresso machine provided.
Disliked: Bathroom a little small - a taller/bigger person than I may have struggled to fit into the toilet space - but otherwise clean and freshly decorated with good quality shampoo and body wash.

Liked: Location was great, my second stay. Visited 2 yrs ago. Very clean and friendly
Disliked: We had a skylight which was great for letting airin but the glass could do with a clean. Also tea, coffee and water were not replaced daily, but were given on request.
