Why Concert-goers love it

While not in the centre of the action, this hotel is ideal for those attending concerts in Edinburgh who prefer to unwind away from the hustle. With free parking, easy access to the motorway, and just a 15-minute drive from Inverkeithing train station, it’s a solid option for those with a car or willing to do a short commute after the show. The peaceful location guarantees quiet nights for post-concert recovery, and the 14:00 check-in and 11:00 check-out offer flexibility for a weekend gig.

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s Botanist Restaurant serves up modern Scottish dishes and a well-curated wine list, perfect for a pre-show dinner or post-concert wind-down. You’ll also find hearty breakfasts available the next morning – ideal after a late night. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the restaurant offers Sunday roasts and flexible dining hours that cater to music lovers’ schedules.

Nightlife Options

This isn’t the place for on-site clubbing, but that’s part of its charm. For those heading into Edinburgh for a big night out, the hotel is a peaceful place to return to. If you’re staying local, enjoy a relaxed drink in the hotel bar or explore nearby pubs in Dunfermline just 2 miles away.

What People Say

Guests love the spacious, clean rooms, friendly staff, and especially the spa facilities – a hit with travelers looking to unwind. Reviews also highlight the quiet location, making it perfect for a restful sleep after a loud concert. The on-site restaurant gets high marks for both food and ambiance.

Areas for Improvement

While it’s ideal for those with a car, the hotel isn’t walkable to major concert venues, so public transport users may find it less convenient. Some guests mentioned dated room decor in parts of the hotel, though comfort remains high overall.

The Bottom Line

A serene and stylish getaway perfect for concert-goers who want to enjoy the show and then retreat to peaceful luxury just outside the city.

Poor service & dietary understanding

Liked: The hotel was in a good area for attractions and roads.
Disliked: When I booked I stated my dietary needs. the choose for dinner was very poor & the evening staff did not understand my needs. After sorting with staff the only offer was a small choose by removing items but at full cost.As for the room I stayed for 4 nights my rooms was forgotten to be cleaned on my 2nd night without reason.

Adequate, but wouldn’t stay again.

Liked: Location was great for an overnight stay before an early flight from Edinburgh Airport. Reception staff were lovely.
Disliked: We had a family room (14 I think) and it was seriously dated and in need of an overhaul. The carpet was stained, the walls had been drawn on, the bathroom door didn’t close properly, we had to ask for a travel cot when we’d emailed to request one, then had to ask again for bedding as it had just been dumped in our room and not even sat up. Disappointing, and an additional stress when travelling with a young family.

Okay for a night but...

Liked: The room size was very good but others in our party had much smaller rooms.
Disliked: The changing rooms in the leasure club were dirty & the whole place is a bit tired. The breakfast was very basic.

Not ideal

Liked: The gym facilities were really good
Disliked: I arrived at 8:20pm after a 6 hour journey to be informed the kitchen had closed at 8:15pm and there was nothing they could do. I ended up ordering a macdonalds that arrived at 9:30pn cold. In the morning, I was trying to work in my room, and there was drilling going on in the hallway. When asked while checking out "how my stay was," I explained my issues and was informed that they didn't know I was trying to work with no apology.

Adequate, but let down by...

Liked: The few staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and clean, with comfortable beds.
Disliked: Breakfast was the usual selection for hot food, nothing spectacular or different.Bacon was "labelled as grilled", but was sitting in a layer of liquid. Obviously, all cooked in one layer in the oven & then straight out to be served, was all wet with raw fat. Fried eggs were overcooked, yorks hard and whites falling apart.Porridge is in the same bain-marie as beans, this will surely change the smell and maybe even the flavour. Is Porridge was a Scottish staple for breakfast, a national dish?No personal touches, level of service was similar to a Premier Inn and even had to go and ask for tea and coffee for the table.Overall drab and nothing special, we expected more; standards have lowered. Such a Pity. Also did not like having to leave the hotel to visit the leisure centre, not very good if it is inclement weather. Would have thought there would be a covered walkway at the very least.Apparently, there are "swimming lessons" in the pool on a Sunday morning. Admirable offering this to local children but, should this not be made clear when booking and on your webpage. We therefore declined using the pool.

A short stay

Liked: The staff were very kind and helpful. They really did plenty to help. The location is lovely. The swimming pool is very nice. The hotel itself would clearly have been a very nice place to stay, 10 or 20 years ago.
Disliked: The hotel is a bit dated. I think the owners are not investing enough in the upkeep, and the hotel seemed short staffed.Checking in took a while and on one of the days, the bins were not emptied and the coffee restocked in the room. I think, down the line, the owners might regret not investing in the hotels upkeep. There was a missing latch on one of the windows, the tv kept cutting out, saying no signal. Some of the doors were damaged, the toilet seat had seen better days, chips in the bathtub etc etc.. Even the plumbing didn't seem great, with limited tap flow. Anywhere up high had a layer of dust. The restaurant menu had recently been cut, but the qr codes in the rooms had not been updated. So having chosen our meals in the room, we found out they no longer served them when we arrived at the restaurant.
