Great riverside location. Offend friendly...

Liked: The night receptionist was amazing. We suffered some very lengthy flight delays, so didn't arrive until almost 3am. She checked us in as quickly as humanly possible so we could get straight to sleep. She also found a space for all of our luggage, so we didn't have to lug 8 suitcases upstairs.
Disliked: The elevator wasn't working, so a few flights of stairs to contend with,. Hopefully they are repaired by now!?

Don't be fooled by the...

Liked: I liked the location and the view out the window of the river was pretty, with the exception of the huge air conditioner unit in the view. This was an awful three days as we considered multiple times that we should check out and go to another hotel, or "motel" would be the correct word. You get to your room from the outside although no pictures on the website show that. The room was very very small and the bathroom was tiny. Although the room appeared clean, I showered all three days with my flip flops on because the bottom of the shower had black lines in the grout which appeared to be mold. The bathroom was small and the sink counter top fit only a handful of items. Upon check in we were told the elevator was out of order so she asked us if the first floor was ok. Totally inconvenient. The cold water in the sink barely dribbled out of the faucet, and almost every single outlet in the room was so old that nothing would stay plugged in without falling out which made charging phones and lap tops a problem. They boast a free breakfast in a small room with only three tables that were always filled, and the picture of the "lobby" was taken with the widest lense on the market because it is only a fraction of the size in person compared to the picture. On our last night the wifi didn't work. This was my daughter's graduation weekend from UNCW and a very poor choice of hotel on our behalf. The room was not cheap and that is what annoyed me the most. For an extra $50 a night do yourself a favor and stay next door at Embassy Suites or Aloft.
