Best Western Plus Angel Hotel

Average. Expected more.

Disliked: They didn’t replace towels daily (our stay was almost a week), they didn’t have airconditioning, we only got 2x toilet paper rolls for almost a week, they didn’t have small bar fridges that we could store our bought water in.

Good Hotel

Liked: We stayed in the new part of the hotel. Spacious rooms,, seating area with two chairs, big comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with good shower over the bath.Restaurant and bar very good with a reasonable choice of food and not too expensive.There is a leisure pool and facilities. Big car park. Friendly staff..Situated in the middle of Chippenham.
Disliked: Car park costs £7 per day. Rooms are not routinely serviced daily. Very disappointed by this as we stayed 4 nights. They did offer to service the room one extra night which was a minor concession. This is meant to be an hotel which should mean service.The top floor in the new part of the hotel has only one small dormer window. No refrigerator.

Liked: Staff were very helpful. Bathrooms good. Good choice at breakfast. Appreciate the pool, private outdoor area and parking. Good location in central Chippenham as that was were we wanted to be. Quick access of motorway.
Disliked: Bedroom furniture tired, but comfortable nevertheless. Appreciate pricing is dynamic but expensive for a town like Chippenham.

Liked: Location was good and communal areas were very nice.
Disliked: The view from our room was dreadful and of course there was no air conditioning. Breakfast was not great. We got to breakfast at 9 am and there was no fruit left, or hardly any pastries or bread. None of these items were refilled. Our room was very old. I asked for a more modern room but was told none were available although I had booked months ago.

Disliked: As we were from another country, we asked the receptionist at the front counter to call us a taxi. She did, unfortunately the taxi didnt show up, but in the meantime the receptionist went home. When i went back to ask if another phone call could be made to follow up there was no information from the previous receptionist ie what taxi company, so it was quite the palaver. The young recetionist also seemed to have to be told what to do in order to recify the situation instead of use her initive in order to help the customer.Used it as a stop off before we went on a canal boat at Devizes but I wouldnt recommend this due to the unreliability of the taxis.

Liked: The staff were very accommodating. A nice relaxed atmosphere within the hotel. A nice bonus to have a small pool there. Self service breakfast was enjoyable.
