Liked: Easy to find, Only a few miles away from the Oakam main road......View from our bedroom was Great.......A Good selection at Breakfast time and if you fancied something a little different off the menu like porridge you only had to ask !
Disliked: Although we don`t go away to watch TV, It is sometimes nice to catch up with the daily news whilst getting ready for Breakfast or Evening meal the TV was set at such a (FIXED) angle we may as well just have had a radio

Hotel ok location excellent for...

Liked: Nice greeting.breakfast good.location ideal for fishing. Easy parking comfortable bed with well equipped room. Fan was a nice touch.
Disliked: The hotel needs a nicer lounge area and a better bar. It would have been nice to have skytv for sporting events like football matches.

Lovely country hotel, warm welcome,...

Liked: Lovely hotel, a very warm welcome from the lovely staff. They were very accommodating to our baby. Good food, beautiful setting right on Rutland water. We stayed in the Preston suite which had lovely views and a bath with jets. Would definitely stay again!
Disliked: As other reviews noted, the only area that could be improved was cleanliness, there were patches of dust on the carpets in our room, and a couple of dead flies on the shelves in the dining area, but pretty minor and it didnt bother me too much.

Liked: Super situation. Restaurant has nice view of gardens. Food was good.

Overall we had a lovely...

Liked: The location was ideal for us for our daughter’s wedding at Normanton church. The only room available for our stay was a twin, which was ok for a two night stay. The staff who looked after our room were excellent and flexible when asked to clean our room later due to wedding preparations.
Disliked: There was a hook missing in the ensuite so nowhere to hang my robe or towel. The value would have been better if a continental breakfast was included in the price

Lovely location looking over Rutland...

Liked: The room was clean however the sink did smell and the hotel did see to this straight away. We had evening meals and drinks which were ok. The location was fab as away from the crowds and nice grounds. The hotel looks over Rutland water which we could see from our room.
Disliked: The front door banged every time some one went in and out of the building which is separate from the main hotel. We were in the room call Rockingham (206). The plumbing was noisy the spa button in the bath did not work and you could hear the plumbing every time they ran the water and flushed the toilet above us. Creaky floor boards above us.
