Liked: The staff were really friendly and welcomed us (in fact maybe more welcomed our little dog). The facilities were good and the hotel clean. I enjoyed the piano being played in the evening. We found Karen and Maddie to be particularly friendly, it was lovely that there was time enough and the interest for a friendly chat. They were very generous with our dog.
Disliked: That we were unable to stay for longer.

Liked: The setting was fantastic, I like the old school feeling, the hotel knows what it is and does not pretend to be something it’s not. It’s warm , friendly, clean, food is ok ,the bar does its job the staff are great, what more do you want?
Disliked: The room we were in was over the outside bar seating so was a little noisy at times.

Liked: Country location, in private grounds, accepting dogs
Disliked: Dated furniture in bedrooms, no glass in the room for drinking water, nothing to place toothbrush in, badly insulated as could hear other guests talking/flushing the toilet, all room doors bang shut (woken up by guests returning to their rooms), not ecologically friendly as shampoo, shower gel and soap in individual packaging, although dispensers in place, used soap left on empty soap dispenser in shower, stains on carpet, too few staff (2 staff of an evening running between the reception/bar/dining room). Hotel difficult to get to along narrow country lanes and driveway full of potholes !! Receptionist on arrival didn’t know how to find our booking, anything about the area.
