Less than 656 feet from Eastbourne beach and opposite the Western Lawns the The Lansdowne Hotel BW Signature Collection by Best Western has sea-facing lounges with original Victorian features and free Wi-Fi. Beachy Head's chalk cliffs are just 2 miles from the hotel. 1912 Seafood & Steak restaurant officially opened on 14th October 2022. Over the past few months we have transformed the space and the offering to be one of the go-to dining hotspots in Eastbourne. Open daily for breakfast lunch and dinner. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel and can be accessed through the hotel or its new street-side entrance. It is a large airy restaurant offering spectacular views over the sea and a gorgeous backdrop to any meal. The 1912 brand represents the Lansdowne's fascinating history. The hotel is currently in its 110th year of being owned and run by the same family now in its fourth generation. It is believed that the Lansdowne is one of only a handful of hotels in the UK that have been owned and run by the same family for over a century. Family is really important to us. Eastbourne Pier is a 10-minute walk away and the Royal Eastbourne golf club can be reached after a 5-minute drive. Eastbourne Rail Station and the town center are a 15-minute walk from the The Lansdowne Hotel BW Signature Collection by Best Western. All rooms are decorated and include a TV hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. Some rooms have views across the sea and feature antique furniture. We have 98 well appointed bedrooms of which seven are double bedded executive rooms three are superior rooms and a Junior Suite all south facing. All executive superior and suite rooms are provided with bottled water and upgraded toiletries. We also have a number of family rooms available and can accommodate a family of four. Please note we have an ongoing refurbishment program. Recently refurbished rooms are subject to availability and not guaranteed when making your reservation.

Very good

Disliked: Carpets in room 305 could be renewed quite old .Breakfast bit expensive for self service . Food quality good

Very good

Liked: Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was of a good standard.
Disliked: The room was too warm for our taste, but fans were already provided in the wardrobe, which suggests this is a common complaint. Yes, we could have opened a window, but when we did so we were assailed with the fairly constant noise of motorbikes roaring up and down the promenade outside. Yes, in Eastbourne! You would not get much sleep if you left the windows open at night.

Loved it and would visit...

Liked: The room was excellent and larger than I expected, absolutely gorgeous. The breakfast buffet was presented well and plentiful. Hollie at the reception was excellent and made my wife's birthday memorable.
Disliked: although it wasn't the warmest day outside the room was extremely hot. Only 2 of the 3 windows opened to gain fresh air.

Very happy.

Liked: Beds were very comfortable. 1912 restaurant excellent, breakfast good. Location is nice, away from town centre but not too far.
Disliked: No complaints.

Perfect location.

Liked: Friendly staff - especially Bar staff. Lovely lounge relaxing areas. Had a sea view room which was perfect.
Disliked: The only negative is the mattress was really soft and a bit hollow in the middle so might need replacing?
