Less than 656 feet from Eastbourne beach and opposite the Western Lawns the The Lansdowne Hotel BW Signature Collection by Best Western has sea-facing lounges with original Victorian features and free Wi-Fi. Beachy Head's chalk cliffs are just 2 miles from the hotel. 1912 Seafood & Steak restaurant officially opened on 14th October 2022. Over the past few months we have transformed the space and the offering to be one of the go-to dining hotspots in Eastbourne. Open daily for breakfast lunch and dinner. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel and can be accessed through the hotel or its new street-side entrance. It is a large airy restaurant offering spectacular views over the sea and a gorgeous backdrop to any meal. The 1912 brand represents the Lansdowne's fascinating history. The hotel is currently in its 110th year of being owned and run by the same family now in its fourth generation. It is believed that the Lansdowne is one of only a handful of hotels in the UK that have been owned and run by the same family for over a century. Family is really important to us. Eastbourne Pier is a 10-minute walk away and the Royal Eastbourne golf club can be reached after a 5-minute drive. Eastbourne Rail Station and the town center are a 15-minute walk from the The Lansdowne Hotel BW Signature Collection by Best Western. All rooms are decorated and include a TV hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. Some rooms have views across the sea and feature antique furniture. We have 98 well appointed bedrooms of which seven are double bedded executive rooms three are superior rooms and a Junior Suite all south facing. All executive superior and suite rooms are provided with bottled water and upgraded toiletries. We also have a number of family rooms available and can accommodate a family of four. Please note we have an ongoing refurbishment program. Recently refurbished rooms are subject to availability and not guaranteed when making your reservation.

Liked: Excellent location, wonderful breakfast !Not in the heart of the city but close enough to be minutes away from everything. Staff was great!Room was a delight , great views !

Clean, comfortable and welcoming

Liked: Hotel was very clean with very polite and friendly staff.Our deluxe sea view room was nice and did have a lovely view.Facilities are a little dated but everything was clean and the bed very comfortable.Hotel is quite stuffy and hot and would definitely benefit from air conditioning.Luckily there was a small fan in our room which kept us fairly comfortable.Overall though we had a lovely time, staff very friendly, the person on the night shift even opened the bar for us to have a nightcap when we came back!Lady running the breakfast hall was very help and nice too. Breakfast was really good with a nice selection.Nice hotel and a good location, thank you.
Disliked: Would have been nice to have a couple of bottles of water in the room as I would never drink from the tap in the bathroom.

Generally very good and reasonable...

Liked: Staff were very good. Room was a little 'tired' but generally OK. Breakfast was good although items kept running out and top-up suffered as very busy time.
Disliked: Shower was not consistent

Great location for fab Italian...

Liked: Location excellent and breakfast very good. excellent breakfast staff at front of desk. Relaxed atmosphere of hotel. My room coffee machine.
Disliked: The 2 rooms we booked were very hot and corridors looked like a hospital which initially gave us a shock with dirty worn out carpet plain walls, dreadful! Hot water from shower dangerous and my shower fell off its cradle! Shame. Room (sea view) dated. (243)No water in the second room to drink (242)

Charming older hotel in excellent...

Liked: Very good location with sea views and promenade walks. Enjoyed the.1912 resturant meals. Comfortable nights rest. Staff were very friendly
Disliked: The room was stuffy and warm with not much help from 2 electic fans. It a pity the windows could not be opened wide enough for air circulation. Health & safety reasons I understand. The room was spacious and comfortable but for a 4* room @ £225/ night I would have expected more facilities like a safe, fridge, iron, toiletries.

Liked: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I was travelling with my dog, and we both felt very welcomed. The bed was also very comfortable.
