Pleasant

Liked: Budget friendly, big room. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Disliked: The room was very dated. I felt the breakfast was a bit basic and perhaps therefore pricey.

Comfortable but not flash management...

Liked: Management were great and helpful rooms were cool even though the hottest day of the year

I was made very welcome...

Liked: The staff were lovely. It felt like being in a family hotel not part of a big chain. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Extremely good value for money.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Clean on site parking; swimming pool and steam room.
Disliked: Decoration dated no real issue

Disappointing

Superb

Liked: Chris and Sammy make the difference, very welcoming. Great to talk to, really down to earth. Nothing is too much bother.
Disliked: Old building so understandable no Aircon. Was a bit warm at night (fan a bit noisy) however it was exceptional weather. Some damp or mould on ceiling of room and dead fly on windowsill but was cleaned up next day.

Liked: Very helpful staff. Nice location. Pleasant area not far from the city centre. Comfortable. Clean.
Disliked: Price a bit higher, but that seemed to be standard in York that weekend.

Liked: Staff were very attentive and helpful. Fittings and fixings dated and a bit grotty and very dusty Stains on bathroom wall, taps very wobbly, big watermark on ceiling above bed, furniture and curtains from the 80s, pool a bit scummy and steam room not working... Didn't complain because the staff were lovely but at £144 for the night it wasn't good value for money.
