Stylish Riverside Comfort Steps from the Inverness Music Scene

Modern comfort meets Victorian charm at the Best Western Inverness Palace Hotel & Spa, located right on the scenic banks of the River Ness. Just a 5-minute stroll from Inverness city centre and facing the iconic Inverness Castle, this hotel blends relaxing spa vibes with easy access to the city’s vibrant music and nightlife. Whether you’re catching a gig in town or exploring the Highlands, this hotel makes a great base for your trip.

Why Concert-goers love it

Just a short walk from many of Inverness’s popular bars and event venues, this hotel is ideally located for music lovers. A 12-minute walk to the train station means getting in and out of town is a breeze, even after a late night. Thanks to a relaxed check-out time of 12:00, you can sleep in after the encore. Rooms are tucked into charming Victorian buildings or cosy garden cottages, with many offering peaceful river or castle views—perfect for a quiet wind-down after the show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a central and stylish place to stay
  • Solo travelers chasing a bucket-list concert
  • Couples turning a gig into a romantic weekend
  • Fans seeking a quiet spa escape after a loud night
  • Budget-conscious travelers wanting value with great amenities

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s Brasserie and Eight on the River restaurant serve up both casual bites and hearty evening meals. After a late show, settle into the River View Lounge for coffee or cocktails, including Starbucks selections. While there’s no 24/7 room service, you’re just a 3-minute walk from riverside bars and restaurants—perfect for grabbing a bite post-show. A hot and cold breakfast buffet is available so you won’t miss out even if you sleep in.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself keeps things chill, you’re steps from Inverness’s bustling riverside nightlife. Explore cosy pubs, cocktail bars, and live music venues all within walking distance. Afterward, unwind in the lounge or rest up in the spa’s sauna or steam room—it’s the best of both worlds.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly staff, spotless spa facilities, and the beautiful setting by the river. Many love how easy it is to walk to restaurants, shops, and venues. Reviewers also highlight the comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast as standout features.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that rooms in the older Victorian section can feel a little dated, and parking may be tight during busy periods. But with everything so close by, you might not even need the car.

The Bottom Line

A relaxing, well-located hotel with spa perks and riverside charm—perfect for concert-goers who want comfort after the curtain falls.

Liked: Comfortable hotel, provides parking (claimed free but it was always full and we had to get valet), good rooms, decent wifi service, a bar and even a swimming pool. Staff were helpful and accommodating.
Disliked: For the price we had to pay, it seemed like very basic. The swimming pool was very crowded and noisy, breakfast and parking was at an extra charge, despite the extremely high rate we already paid for what was actually a normal basic room.

Liked: the staff at breakfast
Disliked: The room was nowhere to the standard required for this price. It was small and constricting for the length of stay.
