Liked: Booked at short notice and was great to get a room upgrade on arrival. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent with good service as was breakfast the following morning.

Disliked: The hotel has no lift and no help was offered by reception for our luggage (up a floor and then some more steps). I now realise I had an expectation that a hotel would have some help around things like luggage compared to a normal private airbnb/booking.com you rent). The receptionist while not rude and not unfriendly exactly, was business like, emotionless and matter-of-fact: just unhelpful. The receptionist on the next day was bright and cheerful.The hotel is tired; the furniture on our room had knocks and some damage to the desk and to the door.

Very nice hotel.
Liked: Room great, food great, breakfast hit and miss. Receptionist lovely and very helpful. Hotel staff seemed very busy, in fact I think there was only one member of staff on one night with restaurant full. She seemed very over worked and had no help. Grounds beautiful , views fab.
Disliked: As above , more staff required to make experience better.

No heating in room, rude...

Disliked: The room we were given did not have heating in it. We were shivering so the night staff told us to move to another room, but heating was not working there as well. Receptionist in the morning told us that the heating was not turned on centrally and it’s intentionally not told to the night staff. This is one weird way to manage things. On top of it, when they turned it on in the morning at 7 and we could finally sleep peacefully, we were running late for checkout, the receptionist on phone was rude and said there would be a late checkout fee even for half an hour delay. Even after mentioning that we are late because we couldn’t sleep properly in that God forsaken room.
