Terrible
Disliked: We had a bug in the bed during the night and bugs in the bathroom the first night. We changed rooms and then found a bug inside a folded hand towel on the sink!! It was disgusting! We left after the second night. We were VERY disappointed!!

Rutland at its best
Liked: Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. A very safe location.
Disliked: There are no elevators at this property, by the time we arrived we had to take a second floor room. There is no higher floor than that, but if anyone in your party has mobility issues you may want to let the hotel know ahead of time so that they can accommodate you.

Staff was very accommodating
Liked: We were in a standard double which was fine but the noise from adjoining rooms kept us up most of the night. I asked the front desk if there was a room we could move to away from this noise and they upgraded us into a suite in building 7 without blinking an eye! The room was perfect and quiet!

***** TEN STARS *****
Liked: I've thought hard about this and I still think that a recent 4-night stay was the best hotel experience that I've had, and at a very affordable price. There was no one thing that set this hotel apart, it was really the sum of all the features.ROOM: Traveling with some family members required larger rooms than our usual 2-person stay. I was thus delighted to find that my "2 queens & sofa" room turned out to be an entire house with full kitchen, bath with disability shower (tub with wand & grab bars), living room (with sleeper sofa), dining room, 2 queen bedroom and private back porch area. This made our stay extremely pleasant and was very surprising as our room cost about the same as other 3-person handicap rooms we stayed in on our trip. Note though that not every room is a suite.BREAKFAST: A breakfast room that seats at least 50 in a comfortable room that feels like a lodge rather than hotel space, and a complete breakfast no matter what you like (even yogurt for cereal the way my wife likes it). The main meat & egg dish changes daily and they post what it will be tomorrow on a board at the lobby entrance in the afternoon each day. The main food gets cleaned up but the room remains open for coffee, tea & other drinks and sometimes cookies all day long.HOTEL GROUNDS & LOCATION: A series of 8 buildings set across about 13 acres makes it feel more like a resort, which I guess it is in the winter. Has an outdoor pool and tennis courts and a quiet spacious country feel while being just 2.5 miles from downtown Rutland right on VT Rte 7.STAFF: Staff couldn't have been nicer. Daily room service is on-demand, which we only used for clean towels. Jody & Robin in housekeeping were quick to respond with our requests. Manager Lisa and Stella at the front desk were quick to help with any questions or issues.Bottom line, there is no where else I'd stay in Rutland in the future at any price.

Will return! It’s on the...
Liked: The staff was incredible and really took care of me. They were so generous in making sure I was comfortable and could get some sleep. Excellent shower. The breakfast the next morning was really deluxe for a hotel continental too!

We stayed in Rutland for...
Liked: It was exactly what we needed for our stay. It was an easy ride to Pico Mt for the event we were there for. It was also close to many different restaurants and stores if needed.
Disliked: n/a
