Nice hotel in bad location.
Liked: Nice and carefully arranged but very small room.Coffee machine in room is a definite plus.
Disliked: The room was very tight, hard to move around in.The location is not great. The neighbourhood is run down, does not feel safe.

Lovely Hotel with friendly staff.
Liked: The hotel was conveniently situated for our needs and in area in which we have stayed before. This allowed us to visit bars and restaurants that we knew. The reception staff at the hotel were wonderful - very helpful and pleasant [they even coped with my dreadful French].The literary theme of Arthur Rimbaud was well presented throughout the hotel - information to read, pictures and books to look at and some very interesting art work too.We were allocated Room 1 [Metropolitain], just downstairs from Reception. The room itself was a good size and the bathroom/shower area was huge in comparison to what we expected in Paris. Our windows faced onto an alley/Passage which was home to an Indian Restaurant - but this did not cause any problems for us at all.Having looked at the brochure of other hotels in the Litteraire 'family' we would consider using the chain again.
Disliked: As I have said, the room we were allocated was a good size. However, it did contain an extra [single] bed which took up a fair bit of space meaning that we felt cramped when moving around and, particularly, packing and unpacking. One of the bedside lamps was not working, which we reported to Reception although we did not anticipate it being repaired during our short stay.
