Wouldn’t book it again, unpleasant...

Liked: Convenient location in a quiet area of the city, close to public transportation.
Disliked: Extremely small rooms not perceptible by the pictures shown on the website (somehow deceitful). I reserved a two bed bedroom and got two single bed room instead, which would be okay if the rooms were spacious. It had about 0,5 meters spare on each side of the bed maximum distance to the wall, a night table just big enough to place a cellphone, one single chair and a tiny table, no water or refreshments available, and WORST, NO AC!! There was a small dusty fan on the floor as the provided solution for the huge temperature discomfort. The rooms were roasting, unbearably hot. Everything is tiny in this hotel, from the rooms to the bathrooms or even the breakfast area - even the dishes!! Seriously, the breakfast tables are so small they have to use desert plates. It’s like a doll’s house. Cleanliness is a hit and miss, with a noticeable coat of dust over the reception counter as a “welcome” card. I would definitely not stay in this hotel again, even if in a budget. For the asked price there’s much better to be found. Staff did not cause a remarkable experience either, the lack of empathy and customer service skill is noticeable. No idea how they got a 4 stars rating but I’d say it’s a solid 2 stars.

Liked: I stayed at this hotel with my child for two days — and we had a wonderful experience! We booked a standard room, which was small but very clean and cozy. Everything we needed was provided: a kettle with tea, coffee, and sugar, as well as all the necessary toiletries — shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toilet paper — which was very convenient.The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful area, just a 5–7 minute walk from the metro, a bus stop, ICA supermarket, cafés, and even a McDonald’s. The location is really convenient: you can walk to the Old Town, the Central Station, or Gröna Lund amusement park in about 30 minutes, or take just a couple of stops by public transport.The staff were especially lovely — always smiling, friendly, and ready to help. It was also very helpful that we could leave our luggage before check-in.In the lobby, tea, coffee, cookies, and muffins are available 24/7 — a nice touch after a long day exploring the city. And the breakfast was absolutely fantastic! Very diverse, with a wide variety of options to suit every taste. You can really tell that the staff put a lot of effort into making guests feel welcome. I had read some reviews about breakfast being crowded, but I didn’t experience that at all — everything was well organized. There’s also a charming outdoor terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast in warm weather.This hotel is a perfect choice for both families and solo travelers. Comfortable, clean, well-located, and with excellent service. I would definitely stay here again!

Liked: I really enjoyed the wonderful breakfast. The location of the hotel is also excellent. The room was clean and light.

Rude Staff, Misleading Rooms, and...

Liked: I had an appointment at the embassy and the hotel was a 20 minute walk away, which was convenient. The only positive aspect of this booking, unfortunately.
Disliked: Avoid this place — seriously.The woman at reception had the worst attitude I've ever encountered at a hotel. She was visibly annoyed that my partner didn’t come with me — even though the price was the same. Then she told me my room was on the second floor, but it was actually in the basement. Confusing and not a great start.The room itself was awful. I hadn’t realized I booked a “no windows” room, and it felt more like a stale dorm — poor air circulation, blonde hair on the towels, and just overall grim. I asked for a fan and was flatly told “no” without her even checking. Later, I saw one right behind the desk. Only after some back-and-forth did she reluctantly hand it over.No iron in the room either. When I asked for one, she halfheartedly searched a drawer and said there wasn’t one — and it was “too late” to check storage.Unhelpful, dismissive, and far from welcoming. Wish I had stayed elsewhere.

Exceptional

Liked: We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Hotel Karlaplan - the staff were very friendly, the breakfast superb and the location is brilliant (a quiet street and a pleasant 20min walk into the centre of Stockholm.). There is also the added bonus of the lovely outdoor seating area at the back of the property, we loved having our breakfast there (it was very warm when we were there). We have been to Stockholm a few times - this is the best hotel we have stayed in and highly recommend it!
