Best Western Edgewater Resort, Sandpoint

If I ever need to stay in Sandpoint this is where I will stay.

Liked: Beautiful location, loved the peacefulness
Disliked: Wouldve liked for the pool to have been opened later and the breakfast was pretty pathetic. We also did have a problem with ants in the bathroom.

Disappointing

Liked: The staff was very polite and helpful.
Disliked: The facility is old, out dated and the room tiny and dingy, the curtains looked old. The shower curtain was also dingy and wet on the outside so when we were getting ready our clothes kept getting wet from brushing up against the outside of the curtain. The bathroom tile was extremely cold!!!!

Liked: The location to downtown sandpoint
Disliked: It stinks. My room and the hallway stink like mold and must. In the bathroom the toilet still had urine around the base of the toilet. Overall disgusting and I'm angry I paid this for this hotel. The on site restaurant is also no longer there.

Liked: The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Its on the water, next to the waterfront park, within walking distance to town.
Disliked: The place is long overdue for a renovation. There were holes in our curtain and the shower head leaked like crazy. Even worse, the smoke detector started chirping in the middle of the night. The front desk had no spare batteries and didnt offer us a different room, so we just removed the battery and went back to sleep. Turns out the battery was more than two years old.

Please renovate this place!

Disliked: The website said it had a restaurant and lounge, but it wasn't open during our stay( they should update that). No elevator to 3rd floor. At least we didn't see one. Breakfast wasn't what we thought it would be..consisted of making toast, cereal, or I think yogurt and packaged muffins. Wouldn't accept my AAA discount. It's really not worth the price for one night. Cobwebs on the picture in our room was not good....

Liked: View of the beachfront lake. Sliding glass back door of room within walking distance to the beach. This would have been more enjoyable in the summer.
Disliked: The room we stayed in has ants in the bathroom. The fireplace only worked for a few hours the first night. I cut my foot in the pool. When you walk into the pool room, you will see the 2 metal, I guess filters in the middle of the pool at 4 ft deep, the one on the left cut my foot open. When we went into the hotel room, there was barely any toilet paper, only a couple of tissues in the box, someone else's clothes hanging in the closet, and hair on the dish sponge. We asked for pool towels the second night because we saw there weren't any, and the front desk said they already put some in the pool room and that's all they were putting in there that night. That was my first time swimming on the second night. Front desk staff called the room to tell us not to smoke in the room, which we weren't, and I have a service animal which I told the front desk upon check-in and the hotel attempted to charge my card multiple times for a pet fee and were successful charging my card. The only friendly employee was the breakfast attendant. I reached out to management, and it seems they do not care about customer service. I don't like to complain, and we tried to have a good time, it's just these things are concerning. For the overpriced 22% tax and room charges, I don't think we should have paid so much for the service provided.
