Liked: The hotel was located by the sea shore and we had a sea view from our window which was pleasing. The breakfast was excellent in terms of choice of food and the quality of the food was good. The room was both large and comfortable
Disliked: The hotel met our expectations!

Liked: Nice location for a short break. Large family room with comfortable beds. Nice breakfast buffet with hot and cold choices. Overall I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a short break in the UK.
Disliked: No hotel car park. Had to park in a residential street some distance away and walk back to hotel with my luggage. The hotel provide discount vouchers for on-street parking but sometimes there are no spaces.

Excellent and better than expected
Liked: Breakfast and dinner were both great and the service was good, particularly at breakfast thanks to Maj who was single handedly ensuring we were all looked after. Our room was large with high ceilings, a part of the charm of the building, and a view of the sea. It was very clean and had all we needed.I read some bad reviews before we came but needn't have been concerned as our stay was better than I expected, partly because the staff were so helpful and attentive.
Disliked: As per other reviews the room could do with updating but I gather a refurbishment is planned soon. The windows did not open but I understand why, and we were provided with a very efficient fan. However the room was still rather hot at night. The hotel does not have its own car park but its an old building so not a complete surprise. As it happened we were able to park in the street outside on Friday afternoon for only £3/day which hotel reception sorted out for us. On Saturday evening, having been out all day, we were able to easily park two streets/5 mins walk away, for free. However I imagine this would not be ok for those with mobility issues.

Disliked: Found dirty knickers under the bed and the room was disgustingly hot. Nowhere near worth £200 for a night.
