Best Western At O' Hare

Very poor service and experience; located in perfect location, but not a well cared for hotel.

Liked: Shuttle to the Allstate Arena for concert.
Disliked: Outside doors were not secured (pulled open without a key card); no water pressure in shower; room and halls smelled like stale smoke; only one working ice machine in whole hotel; pop machines empty and pop for sale at front desk at higher cost; suspicious activity involving a young woman carrying a backpack who we saw taking money from other guests for something from her backpack (not what I wanted my 16 year old daughter to see).

Stay away

Liked: They canceled my stay last minute with the excuse a storm damaged the property 2 weeks ago. Why they did not do it at that time?

Liked: I reserve a room for 27 and 28 of October They email me at 3:14pm to let me know that The Hotel was closed I will never book trough Booking

Liked: Nothing!
Disliked: Within 24 before my stay I got a communication from the Best Western that stated they canceled my reservation because of damage on 8/24/24. I was in Poland and could not use my phone to contact the hotel or Booking.com. When I arrived at the O’hare airport I called the hotel and they confirmed that my reservation was canceled. Booking.com had already charged my credit card and used my $64 rewards credit. I called twice Booking.com and it took close to 2 hours to find out that they could not book me at another hotel with the credit and money I was charged. Frustrated I finally booked another hotel. I should have been able to use my $15 rewards voucher from Booking.com but it did not happen.

Disliked: The breakfast was poor and the room were adequate as I needed a room for one night

Disgraceful property

Liked: Don’t know since they canceled my room late the evening before I was due to fly in. The hotel had been closed for weeks due to a storm. They didn’t let me know. I was going for a concert and could walk to the arena. The room was booked weeks ago. I ended up spending a fortune on a last minute room . I was disgusted with best western and I would think booking.com has protocols in place for hotels they advertise for on their site.
Disliked: Terrible management and disgraceful notification of the cancellation

Liked: The property was not open because of structural issues. We were not notified of the situation and showed up on time to check in.

Booking.com left us stranded.

Disliked: It was closed and Booking.com did not tell us!! We were told that they had been informed a month ago.
