Disappointing

Liked: The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
Disliked: It was a surprise to find out, when we checked in, that the room would only be serviced every three days. We had paid a lot for our room. and I expected better than that.

Pleasant

Liked: The property was spacious and clean
Disliked: The beds were terrible. It was like sleeping on a jello mold with my husband. Most expensive stay of our trip with the least amount of comfort. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. We couldn’t even drink the coffee that appeared the be the color of motor oil.

Perfect place to stay if...

Liked: The room is clean and breakfast is good. It is 10 mins drive from Bar Harbor and 20 mins drive from Ellsworth that is perfect to select different restaurants around the area.

Family Time

Liked: I absolutely love the location. It's so close to Acaidia National Park, mini golf, ice cream, BBQ, and a great little resteraunt that has the best lobster nachos. The hotel is clean and the grounds are great.
Disliked: I was a little surprised at the treatment I received from Peggy Sue. This is the 3rd year my family and I have stayed here, and she was always professional. This year was different. We checked out of the hotel around 8:30 AM on Thursday. At 7:20 PM I got a notification from my credit card company that I was charged $80 from the Best Western. I called the hotel, and Peggy Sue answered, I explained to her who I was and then said that my credit card got charged $80. She interrupted me and said it's because we had a dog and that there was dog hair and dog smell all over the room. I said we don't own a dog and that it must have been a different room. She said that housekeeping saw the dog run out of the room. I said well we don't own a dog. I admit I was getting pretty defensive because she basically isn't believing me. She then said she would refund the charge and notate my account. I again got upset and asked her why she was putting a note on my account? She said I'm noting that you didn't have a dog. I probably wouldn't have gotten so defensive if she had just apologized for the mix-up and refunded the charge.

Very mediocre

Liked: Breakfast wasn’t great. The layout of the space is very odd to accommodate the flow. People ate stuck in a few areas and ate bumping into one another.Food wise: I guess they have a variety of items and they are not too junky but not exciting either. Plain oatmeal was fine, bagels and pastries were mediocre at most, yogurt had a weird texture (too much starch?), eggs seemed ok, family complained about the meat.Coffee was very strange. Unsure how they make it. It tastes more like a hot water, but it looks like a very dark matter. It could be the instant coffee but it really shouldn’t be called a coffee.
Disliked: Water pressure was low in the shower, room had no air flowing (all the stuff we washed never dried in 3 days). Poor quality linens and bed, no one cleaned the room, food was sub-optimal.
