Very good

Comfortable

Liked: Clean modern, well appointed. Friendly helpful staff.
Disliked: We had booked to include an accompanying small dog, acknowledged on the booking. What wasn’t clear was that there was an extra charge for the dog made on arrival.More clarity in the booking cost pls.

Nice hotel with lovely staff...

Liked: Nice room and very clean. Bar was nice. Staff were excellent. Breakfast staff were fab and the breakfast itself was fine. Bathroom and shower were spot on.
Disliked: The room air conditioning was a waste of time. Not easy in a building like this but it was appalling. The fact that it turns off when the room windows are opened is quite right. Mid July 2025 was quite warm for the UK. The air con was no where near up to it.

Probably wouldn't in hindsight

Liked: Beautiful old house, walking distance into Canterbury. Onsite free parking. Friendly approachable staff.
Disliked: From the entrance in Reception it could have done with a deep clean and we can understand why it was under refurbishment (although this wasn't invasive & obvious). Lift floor was scattered with dirt. Room was adequate - could have been cleaner - cobwebs in room, old stained carpet. It was an attic room and heating was on despite it being a steaming hot day & no air con! Very dated bathroom. Only 2 teabags & 2 coffees provided although they had no problem in supplying extras upon request. Overall expected better from our previous experiences at Best Western.

Disliked: Breakfast a little simple, and therefor too expensive

Disliked: A little old fashioned bedrooms and terrible creaking floors above our room

Disliked: Floor boards in bathroom squeaking.

Liked: A number of things went wrong, but generally they were fixed well.
Disliked: The restaurant was closed (which we did know about) but the alternative bar meals were not good - very limited choice.Staff were pleasant but not very experienced. One asked me if my Savignon Blanc was a red or white wine!! Also, I do not think you had enough staff on duty. They seemed to be multi-taking and very busy.The air conditioning in our room did not work but we were moved to another room. We asked for our room to be cleaned and it was not. But one of the managers came to do it at about 4.00.
