Superb

Liked: It was a lovely surprise to find a hotel with that has retained many of the original features.
Disliked: Not a dislike, but the property is not easy to find in the dark (not helped by flooding on the road). Better signage would help.

Good

Liked: Nice location. Team were nice and friendly.
Disliked: Breakfast was expensive compared to similar hotels The full English was one sausage one egg and half a slice of black pudding. You do get the continental bits as well but at £16 it was too much .My room was in the eaves but was ok. Food is expensive but there are lots of local restaurants to choose from.

Beautiful hotel and room, amazing...

Liked: Hotel and grounds were beautiful, room and bathroom amazing. The Nice fresh coffee in room instead of instant was a lovely touch. Staff friendly and professional.
Disliked: Whilst adding to the ambiance of the hotel we Could have done without the live jazz pianist being situated right outside the bedroom door, was unable to just relax and rest up from our journey before dinner. Piped jazz music during dinner and breakfast was way too loud, had to ask the waiter to turn it down so we could hold a conversation. Scallop starter was just two very small chewy scallops, with a leaf of overcooked slimy spinach, not worth the £15 nor as pictured on website menu. Was very disappointing after looking forward to trying the dish. No butter provided with the bread rolls purchased. However, The fish and chips were decent and a good sized portion. Bed and pillows were a little hard for my preference.

Disappointing stay in the Mews...

Liked: Pros- Good pillows.- Quiet location.- Great shower.
Disliked: We stayed in the mews building “Caspian room”. Had a terrible nights sleep in a small room with a rock hard bed. Overall a bit disappointing for the price.Big Cons- Rock hard mattress (a clearly known issue as it has two extra padded mattress toppers).- “Wide bed” is actually two single mattresses in one frame.- Toilet door has transparent glass with line of sight from bed to toilet. No privacy.- Undersized duvet for bed width.- Photos misleading as lobby looked like part of the room. The photo of the sofa, is in the lobby, which is shared with the other room in this building and unusable.Small cons- Double charged for room (two receipts but got refund on pointing out the error)- Misleading through omission. Spiral staircase is external and feels treacherous in the wet.- Thin walls and next to other room

Liked: Venue, dining area/experience, beautiful surroundings.
Disliked: As above. As I was attending a seminar, I did not have much time to explore the surroundings.
