Superb

Liked: This is an iconic and quirky old hotel. It is a great place to stay for guests who like that and don't need too many modern amenities. The breakfast needs a bit of work. I love the vibe here and would stay again.
Disliked: The breakfast.

Top drawer hotel experience

Liked: Amazing place to stay. Onsite restaurant and bar, wonderful breakfast, clean and comfy room. Vintage 20s vibe, very romantic. Beautiful courtyards. We were able to sit with friends and visit in the upstairs lobby. Pool was great. They allowed us to leave luggage for a bit. Very close to UC Berkeley campus. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere.
Disliked: No AC. Ceiling fan didn’t make much of a breeze.

Great location, iconic building, and...

Liked: Great Location and bar and restaurant were very nice with nice atmosphere to the place.
Disliked: Rooms were a bit too old-fashioned, like hotel rooms of 50 years ago.

Overall we enjoyed the stay...

Liked: It was a nice hotel with great staff. The historic architecture was cool, the breakfast was great.
Disliked: The room was a bit small and there is no AC. It got hot during the day and at night you had to open windows to cool off. It was fine for the most part but we did have to deal with noise from late night partying by neighbors.
