Spooky, historical and charming stay.

Liked: The building is absolutely stunning and kept itself in a time-warp. Which was pleasant - overall the stay was charming (after you stop noticing all the flaws). Location is great, with loads of food and entertainment in the area.
Disliked: We know historical building etc. However, there was cracks generally here and there and the pool area had rust. Not to mention that the elevator arrow on one floor didn't even work. The place needs a full lift... for this price it was not worth it.

Joyous stay at a historic...

Liked: We were honored to stay at a museum! We learned historical information by reading the pamphlets and books made available by the Berkeley City Club Hotel. We took a self-guided tour and sat in each court yard. We planned on seeing the Berkeley City Club's pool. How important it is to maintain many original pieces and style of the original building. Julia Morgan is to be celebrated. The complimentary breakfast offered white table decor and service. We appreciated the variety and quality of the delicious food offered. Our host catered to our every need. We enjoyed sitting in a beautiful, peaceful setting, filled with natural light from the blue sky. We also took advantage of Thursday Night Happy Hour by inviting our children and a guest to join us. We were encouraged to enjoy our drinks in the courtyard, a perfect way to socialize with a friend we had not seen in over six years. Thank you for our wonderful stay at the Berkeley City Club Hotel. Nancy Domoff Connecticut
Disliked: Absolutely nothing. I enjoyed the quaint rooms. The simplicity of our room brought feelings of living during an earlier time. If a television were provided, that feeling would not have been felt. The bathroom was true to its original time. All that was original made it more special. Usually older tile never can be cleaned to my preference. I am amazed at how clean and well-maintained the tile was.
