A comfy stay with a...

Liked: The main building is very grand with ample parking at the front. I was in a single room in an out building behind with a shared bathroom. The room was very basic with a single bed, which I expected and was decent for the price. The bed was comfortable and there were tea and coffee facilities provided. The bathroom was fine although the shower would have been tricky to use due to the sloped ceiling (I decided to skip that). Breakfast was a buffet of cooked items, cereal and fruit and was very much appreciated after having been at a wedding the day before. Overall a good visit and I would recommend to anyone stopping in Hitchin.
Disliked: Both when I wanted to check in and check out no one was in reception, once I found a service bell near the kitchen the process went smoothly.

A relaxing place to enjoy...

Liked: Although the rooms are a bit out of date, I loved this hotel. Since it is a music school, the sounds of violin and piano are in the air. The gardens around the hotel are beautiful and a wonderful place to sit and relax when the weather is good. The breakfast in English buffet style with a good bit of variety available. There are restaurants and supermarkets quite nearby as well.
Disliked: perhaps the shower is a bit small and the staircase is very steep and narrow; Not much really

Liked: a hidden gem, they open for public during music week when groups are there.the loveliest garden , they even have their own bees/honeyclean, very quiet locatiton
Disliked: very old fashioned furniture in an old room, maybe used to be house for the staff? it has its charme though!!
