A brief but very comfortable...

Liked: The room was quiet and basic. It had a decent shower/washroom and the bed was comfortable. There were tea/coffee-making facilities in the room. There was no TV, but that didn't bother me. The staff were exceptionally helpful. The buffet-style breakfast had a good number of options available.
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: It is near the station and a clean property.
Disliked: The room was very small and the bathroom had a tilted roof over the bath so it was impossible to have a shower.

Disliked: After Checking in, the staff took us to our room in The Lodge which was opposite the main building. As soon as we got inside the Lodge, we had the feeling of it being tired and grubby in need of TLC. The stairs were narrow and steep, not suitable for old people with mobility problem and it's for shared bathroom. with other guests in the Lodge. We have booked for a room ensuite which we have paid extra for and with the booking I mentioned in a special request note that my husband has mobility issues to give us a room in the ground floor or with a lift. We were unhappy about our room in the Lodge, so I returned to the reception and asked why we were taken to the Lodge, it was unsuitable for us and the place was really in need of updating! The staff who saw us first was very apologetic and she immediately transferred us to a better room with the lift at Waldeck Hall, a separate building from the Main House.
