A great find.
Liked: We loved the property and pool. The fact you could use their sister hotel for beach access made this a perfect stop. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We will use this hotel in the future when we are in the area.

Very nice inn and facilities,...
Liked: The hotel is located within a private club with a golf course, and the rooms were tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The heated pool is lovely, and there is a convenient coffee shop right in the lobby. There's ample free parking space, and we enjoyed free access to the nearby sister hotel, Sandpearl, on Clearwater beach.
Disliked: The hotel was understaffed, especially on the day we checked out. It was January 1st, and the woman managing the front desk at check out time was also on duty at the coffee shop. Apparently one of the staff had suddenly quit. But, it was a fiasco. The Sports Shop had mistakenly charged about $600 in golf supplies to our room; my husband went to the shop to ask what had happened, and they said someone had mistakenly signed their bill to our room. Don't they check the name and room number??? They said that the charge would be removed from our room bill. But when we were checking out shortly after that, the woman at the front desk said we couldn't get a final bill reflecting the reversed charges. She said we had to go to the shop again to get a reimbursement receipt, even though we were in a hurry to check out. So, why did they insist we had to go back to the shop again? In the end, the manager (who was on her second day at the job) came out and helped sort out our bill. But, it was a lot of frustration that cast a shadow over our otherwise pleasant stay.

Amazing hotel and staff but...
Liked: The hotel is a historical gem. Everything that should be preserved. The staff - especially Lisa - were amazing. They couldn’t do enough but were clearly struggling with the limitations of the facilities. We could buy wine at the in hotel shop - but not quite the same.
Disliked: No bar, no restaurant and a packed breakfast. People eating brought in takeaways in the hotel areas. It seems such a shame. The facilities at the club are available but close early and quite daunting for none golfers. The rooms are smaller than expected for the price. A junior suite was really small and we had to use the sofas to open our cases.
