Super close to Market Street dining and shopping. Clean; lobby is beautiful and boutique-like; parking garage is attached. Very pleasant and, for San Francisco, priced fairly. It was what I expected from a Holiday Inn Resort.
Disliked: No mini fridge; bed was way too firm for me; a bit noisy, but they give earplugs.

This is a great hotel to stay at if you are going to see a concert at the Civic Center. Clean; cheery, helpful, friendly staff; good price; well decorated room; comfy bed and pillows. Convenient location.
Liked: Clean; great, friendly staff.
Disliked: Restaurant - mediocre, but friendly waitstaff.

Disliked: The location with many poor, homeless, drugaddicted people around. The interior of the hall, renovation going on at the elevatorpart. Rooms were ok, except for poor finishings.

Liked: The rooms were spacious and clean. Simple modern design and they included a yoga mat! Although I didn't sit downstairs there was a lot of beautiful seating and spa water everywhere. It was a very inviting space.
Disliked: There was a bit of ongoing construction in the elevator area that was a bit unsightly. But the elevators were still fully functional so I can't complain. The area is also a little sketchy at night, but just keep your gaze straight down and once you get to the hotel everything is fine. (it's also totally safe and fine in the day time)

Great location, more work to...
Liked: Location good, room clean, Wifi good, check in okay, security very good, easy to navigate, bed comfortable but too low, sleek new look taking place in the lobby.
Disliked: There is no ramp for customers with disabilities or people with wheeled luggage, so you have to make your way up the front steps. Bed way too low for older arthritic guests, room starkly furnished, furniture (chairs & tables) uncomfortable, sink spout open in a way you can?t avoid being splashed. Oddly, you need a separate key card for the elevator and another for the room. No desk to work at, no bureau for clothes ( shelves in closet). Thin walls ( heard the three young children in the next room whooping it up and trying to open the adjoining room door.) construction is still going on, and it is possible it?s complete could make the lobby a pleasant place to sit - not yet. I asked to use the laundry, and was sent there even though it was not open yet. I did my wash down the street. I?ve read reviews that refer to a drug culture near the hotel. That is a very fair assessment, but when I arrived, the hotel was working with SF homeless outreach to assist someone acting out at the front steps of the hotel. I thought it was well handled. I might stay here again after the renovation is completed, but the bed, which is comfortable once you get down into it, is truly a chore to climb out of. It?s almost like sleeping on the floor. I assume a ramp will be incorporated into the entry once construction is completed.
