Superb

Great place to stay.

Liked: Lovely rooms, fantastic sunday lunch, relaxing few hours in the spa and great staff. Great weekend break. Hotel location on the water is pleasant and close to the main town for food and drink options. Would visit again for a chilled weekend break.
Disliked: One downside, couldn’t buy sparkling or still mineral bottled water after the bar closed, so had to make do with tap water.

Liked: I have stayed several times previously over the years, and always had a fantastic experience. I recommend the hotel to several other people who stayed for this yearly gathering. In my experience this time, the room was just adequate. The air conditioning was not adequate. There were no safety handles in the shower, and the rooms were only cleaned every-other day. However, the staff was excellent !!!
Disliked: The remodel in both the common areas and the old rooms was eclectic and sadly disappointing...it was a mixture of 21st century modern and the original enchanting antique. A good part of the class and elegant old world charm has been lost.

Annual visit

Liked: We have stayed here for the last 6 years at least once if not twice a year due to location and nice feel about the hotel.
Disliked: We have stayed here the last 6 years at least once if not twice a year due to visiting family close by. We always book well in advance of our stay and always request a high floor with river view. As yet we have never had a river view room. We are told on request that it cannot be guaranteed but nearer the time hotel will try and accommodate. Very disappointed to yet again this year not be granted the request, even more disappointing I have emailed the hotel twice since our return last weekend to ask what would we need to do to have this request assured on next visit. As yet had no reply from the hotel. We always within the stay make full use of bar and restaurant and while we would still stay it would be nice to have a room we request especially when booking so far in advance.
