Wonderful character property, fabulous location,...
Liked: Everything about this wonderful stay at Beauclaires was a delight. Joanne our host was so friendly and informative and made everyone feel so incredibly welcome. The property is a typical Cape May style, but with personal touches by our host. The breakfast was something else, huge portions, two courses and every day a different delish delightful homemade fabulous start to the day. Our room was spacious and clean and the views were wonderful. The location is perfect to walk to everything that we needed in Cape May, with the marina for the lobster house a few mins away in a car - we took a cab.
Disliked: There was NOTHING we didn’t like, apart from leaving off course!

Recommend this place for couples...
Liked: Loved the cozy 3rd floor bedroom! It was very quiet upstairs and had a view of the ocean.. The breakfast was super delicious and our hostess was very accommodating and easy to converse with. She went out of her way to help us hoist our belongings up to our bedroom. Highly recommend this B&B for couples.
Disliked: Can’t think of anything!

The Smallest Porch In Cape...
Liked: This inn is located in a Beach Block. There's not many historic Cape May inns that are this close to the beach. Washington st. shopping is 2 blocks in the other direction. Each room is different and calling ahead is wise. Room 1 has a clawfoot tub if you want a bath, with a huge wood bedframe. Room 2 is a similar large room but with a 3'X4' shower stall. Room 3 has a king size bed but has a smaller shower stall. We stayed in Rm 6 on the third floor. Queen size bed with 2 wicker rockers and the same spacious shower stall as Rm 2. We had no problem with the sloped ceiling but if you're a pair of 6 footers you will duck to get into the east side of the bed, but not the west side. Rm 5 across the way had a King size bed but a small shower stall. A separate room has a shared mini fridge for everyone. All beds are on floors 2 and 3. The turning staircase to get you there is impressive. Also there are steps up to the front porch if that's an issue. I am not a foodie, but everyone at the table complimented the breakfast. Our room journal was filled with positive food reviews. Breakfast @9am. One choice. You would have to stay about a week before eating the same one twice. I won't tell where to find the smallest porch in Cape May, but it's there and you can go out on it if you've got the nerve.
Disliked: We have no complaints about our stay. In March it's off season in town so we didn't have the meter issue. There's free off street parking, one spot per room. You will back out of the driveway to get out onto the road. There's meters on the street that are active in-season. There is still free parking in Cape May if you don't mind walking and know where to look for it. There are bikes but we didn't see them, being off season. The breakfast portion is not big, if you're used to the Waffle House. Just an observation. We did not get up from the table hungry.
