The Spotlight on Beacon Inn 1750

Historic Brownstone Comfort Just Outside Boston

Modern concerts meet vintage charm at Beacon Inn 1750, a cozy bed and breakfast tucked inside a 19th-century brownstone in Brookline. Just four miles from downtown Boston and right across from the Dean Street subway stop, this inn blends old-school character with easy access to the city's buzzing live music scene.
Each room is individually styled, with free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and cable TV—perfect for unwinding after a show. A light breakfast and fresh coffee are served daily to help you bounce back after a night of music.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and Beacon Inn 1750 delivers. You’re just steps from the subway, making it a breeze to get to major music venues in Boston without the hassle of parking. Despite being near the action, the Brookline neighborhood offers a quieter vibe—ideal for recuperating after a loud night out. While check-in starts at 3:00 PM, the friendly staff can help with early arrivals, and the light breakfast means you won’t have to scramble for food the next morning.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want a chill, well-connected spot
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert in Boston
  • Couples looking for a romantic, historic stay
  • Fans who prefer a quieter space to decompress post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want value without sacrificing charm

Food and Drink Options

No on-site restaurant, but the daily light breakfast and coffee get you going. You’re walking distance to several local eateries and cafes, great for grabbing a bite before or after a show. While there’s no 24/7 dining or room service, nearby options make late-night eats easy to find.

Nightlife Options

While the inn itself doesn’t offer a bar, you’re a short ride from Boston’s vibrant nightlife. Whether you’re into cozy pubs, upscale cocktail lounges, or late-night diners, the subway across the street puts it all within easy reach. The Brookline area also has a few charming spots for a low-key drink before bed.

What People Say

Guests love the inn’s character and location, especially the easy subway access. Many praise the friendly staff and the overall value for the price. The quiet neighborhood appeal is a recurring highlight, making it a favorite for those wanting a peaceful night’s sleep after loud concerts.

Areas for Improvement

This is not a luxury hotel—think more quaint and quirky. Some rooms are smaller and may show their age, and there’s no elevator, so pack light if you’re on an upper floor. But most guests say the charm and convenience outweigh the quirks.

The Bottom Line

Beacon Inn 1750 is a budget-friendly, character-filled choice for concert-goers who want quick access to Boston’s music scene without sacrificing peace and quiet.

I've always stayed at 1087,...

Liked: The mattresses were poor, sagging. The only table lamp didn't work, and the hostess couldn't replace or fix it. Dead light bulb wall lamp. No mini-fridge. Tired, older linens. Funky electrical- Breakfast- not great. A frozen muffin or croissant ? Not fresh. The Beacon Inn at 1087 is great-far better.

Will Not Reurn

Liked: Last minute reservation to attend a funeral service. Walking distance (.2 miles) to a great Jewish Deli. Staff was courteous, all young college students ( never met the same one twice)
Disliked: This is not a B & B. Its a bed and stay. Notification received after reservation parking requires additional fee of 33 dollars. In an alley , leave keys at desk , may move your car to let some else out. We were wedged between trash can and a vehicle with a flat tire. Parking to front door access through a brick tunnel, broken ,irregular height pavement, trash cans, rodent boxes.Room must wear shoes exposed nails, raised floor board nailed over ? old heat register , small flying insects in tub drain. Verbally let front desk know about insects. Pictures on sight do not accurately reflect current state of dwelling

Poor

Liked: The location
Disliked: No elevator (which was not specified in booking process) which made it very difficult to get luggage to the 4th floor. The room was not very clean, the bed linen was very poor quality and uncomfortable, the mattress sagged and was uncomfortable and the bathroom was in poor condition.
