The Spotlight on Beacon Inn 1087

Charming Brownstone Comfort Just Outside Boston

A stay at Beacon Inn 1087 feels like stepping back in time—with modern comforts. Nestled in a historic 19th-century brownstone in Brookline, this cozy bed and breakfast is just 3.1 miles from downtown Boston. Its warm, vintage decor and quiet residential setting offer a peaceful contrast to the energy of the city’s buzzing live music scene. With free Wi-Fi, uniquely decorated rooms (some with fireplaces!), and a light complimentary breakfast, it’s a charming, no-frills option for concert nights in Boston.

Why Concert-goers love it

What makes Beacon Inn 1087 a hidden gem for music fans is its proximity to major venues without the noise of downtown. You're within a short ride of top concert halls and arenas, and just a 10-minute walk from Boston University. Late-night returns are easy thanks to nearby public transit on Beacon Street. While check-in starts at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM, the laid-back B&B vibe makes it feel less rushed than big hotels. Plus, its quiet location is ideal for post-show relaxation.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a budget-friendly base with charm
  • Solo travelers chasing a dream gig in Boston
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of live music
  • Fans who prefer a quieter, more intimate stay after the show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who don’t want to sacrifice character

Food and Drink Options

While Beacon Inn 1087 doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, it does offer a light breakfast and coffee each morning—perfect after a late night. The surrounding Brookline neighborhood is filled with walkable cafes, diners, and low-key eateries that stay open late. You won’t go hungry, even after an encore.

Nightlife Options

Though the inn itself is quiet, you’re close to the nightlife along Beacon Street and a short ride from Boston’s vibrant bar and club scene. Whether you're looking for a local pub or a lounge with craft cocktails, options are plentiful nearby. Plus, the Green Line T is just steps away to take you back safely after a night out.

What People Say

Guests love the historic charm and character of the building, especially the fireplaces in some rooms. Many mention the friendly staff and the easy access to public transit and Boston University. Travelers also appreciate the quiet neighborhood feel that helps them unwind after a night out.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the rooms are on the smaller side and that the furnishings are a bit dated—but for the affordable price and unbeatable location, most find it a fair trade-off. There’s also no elevator, so consider that if stairs are a concern.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers who want a quiet, character-filled stay near Boston’s music venues without breaking the bank, Beacon Inn 1087 hits all the right notes.

Pleasant

Liked: Great location: at walking distance from the Red Sox stadium, T train stop right in front of the inn, cool cafés right by.
Disliked: The room was very small, we could hear the other guests pretty well and most of all, the bed was eeextra creaky.
