Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel shines for music fans thanks to its unbeatable location—an easy walk to venues in the Theater District and downtown Boston. Despite being so central, the hotel is set on charming Charles Street, offering a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere after a loud night out. Very good

Liked: The hotel is very nice and well located.
Disliked: Our recent stay presented some significant challenges concerning accommodations for our baby. Although we requested a crib in our booking notes, it seems this information wasn't accessible to the front desk, leaving them unprepared for our arrival. The initial suggestion that our crawling infant sleep in the bed with me was particularly concerning and unsafe. I stayed with my family and had booked 3 rooms out of the 15. We also found the front desk staff's demeanor to be quite unhelpful and rude when we raised these issues. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and was incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to secure a crib, which allowed us to proceed with our stay. While we appreciate the manager's efforts, the initial experience and the front desk's handling of the situation were very frustrating. For families with young children, I would caution that crib availability and initial staff assistance may be an issue.

Favorite Spot in Boston

Liked: Perfect, comfortable rooms. Fantastic access to Boston. Excellent staff and nice continental breakfast. Very clean, amazing skin and hard products.
Disliked: Some rooms have loud ambient (elevator or electric) noise, but nothing crazy.

Has so much potential, but...

Liked: Location and staff friendliness
Disliked: Mixed Experience Despite Great LocationThe hotel is very well located in Beacon Hill, and the staff were friendly and generally tried their best to help. Unfortunately, several issues made our stay disappointing. The elevator was out of order, the heating in our room didn’t work, and there were no coffee facilities. We also only had one bathrobe, and at one point, a staff member walked into our room because the system mistakenly showed it as unoccupied after day two. While the staff made efforts to resolve problems, it sometimes felt like they lacked experience—for example, suggesting we leave our luggage in the open lobby while we were out for the day. These oversights are concerning, especially given the premium price point of the hotel. We also noticed that other guests seemed similarly disappointed. To add to our frustration, we've been charged an unexplained additional amount, which we are still waiting to have clarified. This is a real shame, as the hotel’s location is excellent and the staff are well-meaning. With better training and improved facilities, the experience could match the hotel’s potential.

Hotel has potential, is charming...

Liked: Good location, charming old building
Disliked: They downgraded us to a smaller room (with a smaller bed) because of overbooking and didn’t tell us, nor did they automatically adjust the rate. When we walked into the room and realized it wasn’t what we booked I had to go back downstairs and request the rate adjustment. They ended up adjusting it (not by much), however if we had been made aware of the change in advance I would have booked another hotel. In addition, the room wasn’t very clean, stains in carpet, and bathroom toiletries looked used.

Had an excellent stay.

Liked: We loved our stay. The hotel has an interesting check in with someone just sitting in the bar area to hand you your key. The room was excellent although quite snug with nowhere to easily hang towels to dry. The location is brilliant- right by the common - and the decor beautiful. A limited European breakfast was included. We felt the room was expensive for what it was - we had a superior king. The bar area was really buzzy and all the staff were amazing - very very friendly. We didn’t get a bill - the final cost we automatically taken from the card we booked with. We would have preferred a printed version.
