Disliked: IT WAS SENIOR GRADUATION WEEK AND THERE WAS YELLING AND SCREAMING STUDENTS VERY LOUD ON THE BOARDWALK AND NEXT DOOR PARTYING ALL NIGHT TILL 3:00 AM WE GOT NO SLEEP AT ALL .AND THERE WERE ONLY TWO PILLOWS IN THE BED

Liked: Loved the Beach Walk on the Ocean! Loved our room. Quaint & cozy. Loved location on the boardwalk. Loved the front porch & watching the waves! Room was clean!!
Disliked: Loved the room although could fix a few things. Outlets were loose. Fridge leaked water on floor. Tv you couldn’t turn off with remote had to turn off on tv. Walls were paper thin you could hear your neighbor in next room talking like they were in our room. Shower was nice & big but water pressure was awful and took 10 minutes for water to warm. Wish it was a B&B where they offered a nice breakfast that would have been perfect!!!

Disappointing

Liked: Location was fantastic
Disliked: Room smelled like gasoline and cigarettes, so much so we left a day early because we couldn't stand it another night. It Was near impossible to reach the staff prior to our check in. Sent several unanswered emails, and had to call fourteen times before I received a call back.

Former award-winning historical home gone...

Liked: I liked that it was a historic home and a great location on the boardwalk with a great ocean view. It was charming and quaint.
Disliked: Lots could've been better. There was ineffective signage/communication. Little to no security. You cannot depend on guests to provide security to the building and only request that they lock the outer coded doors at night. Guests should not be responsible for that level of security, likewise there are no cameras. Anyone off the street could've wandered into/through this old house and no one would know. Leaving handwritten notes on the check in desk (whose location was also unclear) telling the guest: call this # to check in, is not effective if the person doesn't answer the phone and you are left standing there. The room was in disrepair, as was much of the house...broken windows, shades, screens, chairs, furniture, awnings. I asked for tape to conduct my own repairs of the cheap paper bathroom window shade for privacy, I also used duct tape to repair the ripped balcony screen door so that it could be used without bugs getting in the room. What use is a balcony room if you can't use a screen door to the balcony for the ocean breeze? I have before and after photos if you want them. We understand the floors would creak, and be slanted as it's an old house, but easy-fix comforts were missing. There were no washcloths anywhere to be found, there were cheap toiletries with hand soap that fell apart and crumbled, and no blanket was provided (we heard other guests complaining about that, too). It took a couple of hours minimum for the rep to bring us a blanket-I was already in bed...the tv did not work, even after asking for help with it.There are so many small things they could do to shape up what was once a beautiful historic home. There are many magazine covers and awards hanging up from when this house must've really been something special. It's a shame it has gone unkempt and downhill.
