Hotel clean and OK for...

Liked: Room was clean. Booking.com messages were answered. Hotel was reasonably close to airport, though the taxi there cost €28.50. Very bare bones: bed, lighting, bathroom (shower didn't shut more than halfway, so water easily went into the rest of the bathroom), but that was OK for a short night's stay before a plane ride.
Disliked: One reason I chose the hotel was their advertisement of a free shuttle. Shuttle actually only runs from 5:30 a.m. - 10 pm. Transportation delays meant I got there at 9:50 pm and a staff member very reluctantly picked me up. He was clearly seeing me as a job to get done so he could go home. Had me take a picture of directions on how to get into the hotel (they have a code box) instead of letting me in. Since I don't speak French, a message from them said they would set up a taxi for me. They hadn't, and that staff member tried very hard not to until I really insisted. In summary, throughout my setting up the reservation and asking questions, staff was curt, focused on communicating their rules instead of trying to help me figure out how to get what I needed, and did the bare minimum they could. They conveyed that I was a definite inconvenience. And wifi did not work. I didn't get to sample breakfast because it wasn't served before I left, so I couldn't comment on that.

Liked: Cozy private hotel not too far from the Airport. The shuttle service runs almost all day upon request. The manager was exceptionally kind and nice and helping. Very very good for value of money

Functional friendly hotel near the...

Liked: Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Gave us a cheery ride to the airport at 6:30 a.m. Location was excellent for airport. Easy check in.
Disliked: Bedside light was broken, no outlet in bathroom and only one at bedside. Leaking ceiling in the lobby.
