Bayside Hotel

As a business traveler, I would not come back, however for people who are looking for a MOTEL instead of a HOTEL, this is the place.

Liked: Clean room; close to ocean.
Disliked: Fan in bathroom too loud; every toilet flush in the building was heard through my toilet; rusty cabinet in bathroom.

Exceptional

Liked: I got a free upgrade to an ocean view room when I told them that there was noise from the side building and street noise. They put me in a nice big room with a king bed, a big bathroom facing the garden, and a kitchenette and dining area facing the ocean. It was very relaxing and quiet there. Everything was clean and bright. Lots of light in the room. I could easily walk to nice cafes close by and the beach and pier. Excellent location.
Disliked: The first night I was in a cheaper room that was close to Neilson Way. The room itself was fine, but it was facing the next building where there was noise from the street and from some work going on. Then they moved me to the oceanview room. The building was a bit confusing to drive to.

Great location and comfortable room....

Liked: Location was great, 2 min walk from the beach. Room was comfortable.
Disliked: Room was very dark and view from the window was a blind wall only a couple of feet away, with a cleaning cart right in front of it for the bigger part of the day. That was a bit of a disappointment because our booking confirmation stated “garden view”. For a room with no view and almost no natural light i feel we overpaid.

Liked: Great location right next to the beach, walking distance to the Santa Monica Pier, cafes, restaurants and other attraction.
Disliked: No parking
