Liked: Friendly staff. Quiet hotel.
Disliked: The shower definitely need an update. handle was almost broken off.Staff needs to focus on cleaning, found someone's dirty sock in the corner.

Disliked: As soon as went into room and open the fridge we noticed it was unplugged. The second an attempt to plug in the room went dark and no power, circuit flipped. Front desk was quick to resolve. Then went to plug my on charger for phone in and just fell out of the socket it was so worn out, every outlet. Toilet didn't flush, I had to get the float to adjust each time. I didn't care to move as was a pitstop of 5 hrs to rest only.

Disliked: Well in our assigned room , which are outdated. We found that the sink in BR would not drain water. I reported to desk staff and they tried plastic drain unit to see if they could clear, several attempts were unsuccessful and they would have someone to clear drain, (It would be on a Saturday), they were trying to move us to another room as they were really full. We had to leave for our all day event on Saturday. On our return we found the drain did not work, I did check with the desk informing them of sink still not working. I again went to desk to inquire as we thought they would have it repaired. It was after 8pm when we returned to find sink still did not drain. I spoke to staff again and provided me the Manager’s card to discuss the situation and discuss discount on room. We were checking out early next morning to return home. I contacted the Manager on return home. We discussed the situation and were they going to provide discount refund on my bill. She dis state they tried to contact me on Saturday, the 2nd to offer another room. I have checked my phone calls and did not find a call from Hotel, Since calls not in contacts or register on call, not showing from the Hotel, no message was left. I had asked if they were giving a refund discount on room. She stated yes but did not provide me how much! I did receive a $44 credit to account. Our main objection was even brushing teeth or shaving from the bath shower wasn’t what we were looking for. We did get extra towels as a few times trying to see if water in sink drain, then used towels to get warmer out. It just wasn’t the experience we travelled to Portage for.

Disliked: Bathroom smelled like onions and feet, remote hardly worked, room was non smoking but smelled like smoke. Room was outdated along with tv. Counter people were as helpful as they could be but the place was not good, went to merrilleville hotel the next day and was amazed by the room and service for 60 dollars less. I did not feel like I was on vacation in the hotel. Breakfast was good though.
